1987–88 Honduran Liga Nacional
The 1987–88 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the 22nd edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The format of the tournament consisted of two groups of five followed by a 5-team playoff round. Liga Nacional De Fútbol Profesional De Honduras
Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. Cortés Department
Cortés is one of the 18 departments of Honduras. The department covers an area of 3,954 km² and, in 2015, had an estimated population of 1,612,762, making it the most populous in Honduras. The Merendón Mountains rise in western Cortés, but the department is mostly a tropical lowland, the Sula Valley, crossed by the Ulúa and Chamelecon rivers. It was created in 1893 from parts of the departments of Santa Bárbara and Yoro. The departmental capital is San Pedro Sula. Juan Carlos Espinoza Zerón (born 24 August 1958) is a retired Honduran football player, who most recently was assistant manager of Real España in the Liga Nacional de Honduras. Club career He started his career at Real España but spent the majority of his career with Olimpia. He also had a short stint at Costa Rican side Alajuelense.
