Raw Air
Raw Air is the no break ten-day tournament in ski jumping and ski flying in four venues across Norway. Founded by Arne Åbråten, it is organized as part of the FIS World Cup. Ski Jumping
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines. The ski jumping venue, commonly referred to as a ''hill'', consists of the jumping ramp (''in-run''), take-off table, and a landing hill. Each jump is evaluated according to the distance traveled and the style performed. The distance score is related to the construction point (also known as the ''K-point''), which is a line drawn in the landing area and serves as a "target" for the competitors to reach. Robert Johansson
Robert Høneren Johansson (born 23 March 1990) is a Norwegian ski jumper. He is a former ski flying world record holder, having landed a jump of in Vikersund on 18 March 2017. Johansson has often been nicknamed the "Wing Commander" for his distinctive handlebar moustache. Ski jumping career He finished fourth in the team competition at the 2009 Junior World Ski Championships, and also competed at the 2010 Junior World Ski Championships. In January 2012 he took his first Continental Cup podium, with a third place in Neustadt, and in March 2012 he won his first Continental Cup race in Kuopio. In the World Cup he has finished once among the top 15, with a 13th place from Kuusamo in November 2013. He managed two more top-20 placements that season, with a 20th and a 19th place from Sapporo in January 2014. Andreas Stjernen
Andreas Kolset Stjernen (born 30 July 1988) is a Norwegian retired ski jumper. He is the son of former ski jumper Hroar Stjernen. Career He made his debut in the Continental Cup in February 2005 in Brotterode, scoring two 49th places over two days. His first time among the top thirty occurred in March 2006 in Bischofshofen when he finished 28th, and his first time among the top ten occurred in March 2009 in Trondheim when he finished eighth. He made his World Cup debut in December 2009 in Lillehammer and collected his first World Cup points by finishing 19th. His personal best is 249 meters set in Vikersund on 14 February 2016. Stjernen won the 2017–18 FIS Ski Flying World Cup, becoming the first Norwegian to achieve this feat. Andreas Wellinger
Andreas Wellinger (born 28 August 1995) is a German ski jumper. His career-best achievements include winning an individual gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics, individual silver at the 2018 Winter Olympics, mixed team gold at the 2017 Ski Jumping World Championships, and team silver at the 2016 Ski Flying World Championships. Wellinger's best finish in the World Cup overall standings is fourth, in the 2016/17 season. The Raw Air 2017 was the first edition of Raw Air, a ten-day tournament for men in ski jumping and ski flying held in Norway between 10–19 March 2017. It was part of the 2016–17 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season. Fatih Arda İpcioğlu represented his country in qualifications of Lillehammer as first Turkish ski jumper in history of the World Cup competitions. On 18 March 2017, the world record was improved twice at Vikersundbakken; firstly, Robert Johansson jumped 252 metres (827 ft), and about 30 minutes later Stefan Kraft landed at 253.5 metres (832 ft). Stefan Kraft
Stefan Kraft (born 13 May 1993) is an Austrian Ski jumping, ski jumper. He is one of the most successful contemporary athletes in ski jumping, having won the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, Ski Jumping World Cup and FIS Ski Flying World Cup, Ski Flying World Cup overall titles twice each, the Four Hills Tournament and Raw Air Tournament once each, and three individual gold medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, World Championships. Kamil Stoch
Kamil Wiktor Stoch (; born 25 May 1987) is a Polish ski jumper. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers in the history of the sport, having won two World Cup titles, three Four Hills Tournaments (two of them consecutive), three individual gold medals at the Winter Olympics, individual and team gold at the Ski Jumping World Championships, and individual silver at the Ski Flying World Championships. His other tournament wins include Raw Air (twice), the Willingen Five, and Planica7. Stoch is among only three ski jumpers in history, alongside Sven Hannawald and Ryoyu Kobayashi, to win the "grand slam" of all four competitions in a single Four Hills Tournament.
