Stefan Kraft
Stefan Kraft (born 13 May 1993) is an Austrian Ski jumping, ski jumper. He is one of the most successful contemporary athletes in ski jumping, having won the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, Ski Jumping World Cup and FIS Ski Flying World Cup, Ski Flying World Cup overall titles twice each, the Four Hills Tournament and Raw Air Tournament once each, and three individual gold medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, World Championships. Since March 2017, he has held the list of longest ski jumps#Men, ski flying world record of . Career Kraft's debut in FIS Ski Jumping World Cup took place in January 2012 in Bischofshofen. He has two world cup wins and won 2014–15 Four Hills Tournament, 2014/15 Four Hills Tournament overall. His personal best and world record is 253.5 meters set in Vikersund in 2017, only half a meter away from Dimitry Vassiliev's 254 meter jump, the longest to date. Schwarzach im Pongau is a market town in the St. Johann im Pongau District in the Austrian state of Salzburg (state), Salzburg. Geography It is located in the valley of the Salzach river, between the Hohe Tauern mountain range (Goldberg and Ankogel Group, Ankogel groups) in the south and the Salzburg Slate Alps in the north. The 41st FIS Nordic World Ski Championships were held from 20 February to 3 March 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol, Tyrol, Austria. It was the second time Seefeld in Tirol hosted the world championships, the event having been hosted there previously in 1985. Host selection Championships was awarded to Seefeld in Tirol in Tyrol in Austria during the FIS Congress from 1–6 June 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. Finalist applicants were Seefeld in Tirol (Austria), Oberstdorf (Germany), Planica (Slovenia) and Almaty (Kazakhstan). Oberstdorf had already applied for 2013, 2015 and 2017, Planica for 2017. Seefeld submitted its candidacy shortly before the deadline. The Austrian winter sports resort had hosted the Championships in 1985, the German resort of Oberstdorf in 1987 and 2005. In 1980, one World Ski Championship race was held there as well, to make up for its exclusion from the Olympic Games the same year. Host selection At the International Ski Federation (FIS) Council meeting in November 2007, a Candidates project concept was highlighted for use. Candidacy submission was 1 May 2009 along with the registration fee and training days in article 5 of the FIS World Championships Organization Rules.
