Rathnew
Rathnew () is a village in County Wicklow, Ireland. Located south of the capital Dublin along the M11 between Dublin and Wexford, it is close to the county town of Wicklow, which is situated to the east. Education Rathnew is home to Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, an Irish language primary school, which was established in 1996. The school was Ireland's first inter-denominational primary school, and draws pupils from Rathdrum, Brittas and Newcastle, as well as Rathnew. Rathnew is also home to St Coen's National School, a co-educational national (primary) school which was formed following the amalgamation of a number of former/smaller schools in the area. As of 2019, it had over 270 pupils enrolled. The local secondary school is Coláiste Chill Mhantáin, which opened in September 2011. County Wicklow ( ; ga, Contae Chill Mhantáin ) is a county in Ireland. The last of the traditional 32 counties, having been formed as late as 1606, it is part of the Eastern and Midland Region and the province of Leinster. Leinster Senior Club Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played on a knockout basis between the senior club championship winners of the competing counties in Leinster. The current holders of the Leinster title are Ballyboden St. Enda's from Dublin. Offaly side Gracefield were the first winners of the Leinster senior club football championship in the 1970–71 season. The most successful clubs are St. Vincent's from Dublin and Portlaoise from Laois, who have won the Leinster championship on seven occasions. Carlow club Éire Óg won 5 championships in 7 years in the 1990s. Dublin clubs have won the Leinster championship twenty one times, which is more than double any other county. Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship
The Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised since 1903 by Wicklow GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Wicklow, Ireland. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Leinster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship. The first senior championship was won by Barndarrig in 1923. There was no Wicklow championship in 1938. Leighton Glynn
Leighton Glynn is a Gaelic football and hurling player from County Wicklow in Ireland. He was born and raised in Glenealy, County Wicklow. He has represented the Wicklow senior GAA teams in both football and hurling. At club level, he plays hurling for Glenealy and football for Rathnew. Playing career Club In December 2001, Leighton won a Leinster Senior Club Championship with Rathnew when they defeated a Na Fianna team that included Kieran McGeeney and Jason Sherlock after extra time in a replay. The first match which ended in a draw saw Leighton spring from the bench with Rathnew behind to score a point before Mark Doyle levelled to set up a replay. In the replay Leighton was named as corner back alongside current Wicklow full back Damian Power as Rathnew made history in capturing the title for the first time in their history in a score of 2-16 to 1-10 after extra time. Harry Murphy is a Gaelic football manager from County Wicklow. Career Rathnew Murphy won a Leinster club title with Rathnew in 2001 and also led the Wicklow side to seven County Senior Football Championship titles during his 12-year tenure, including four consecutive titles between 2000 and 2003. He returned to the helm in 2017 and led Rathnew to another Senior title.
