The Málaga Metro ( es, Metro de Málaga) is a semi-metro network in Málaga, Spain. It was proposed during the 1990s to ease the crippling congestion when the Ministry of Public Works and Transport commissioned a study in 2001 into the feasibility of constructing a metro system in the city. The plan had four lines, radiating from the city centre, with stations roughly apart to allow a high level of accessibility, with funding for the project coming from both the local and the Spanish governments. Metrovalencia is an urban rail system serving a large part of the metropolitan area of Valencia. The network is a modern amalgamation of former FEVE narrow gauge electric operated suburban railways. It is a large suburban network that crosses the city of Valencia, with all trains continuing out to the suburbs. It also has destinations on lines that make it more closely resemble commuter trains. The Cádiz Bay tram-train is a tram-train/ light rail system in the Spanish city of Cádiz and the surrounding area. The system opened in October 26, 2022. Background The new tram-train line has been described by the European Commission as being 42% quicker than the train, and 26% faster than taking the car, along with projected reductions of 97% in traffic injuries and 75% in road deaths are foreseen.
