Rajinder Paul Loomba, Baron Loomba, (born 13 November 1943, Dhilwan, Punjab, India) is a philanthropist, founder and executive chairman of clothing company Loomba Group, and a member of the House of Lords. Life and career Loomba was born as one of seven children in Dhilwan, in the state of Punjab, India. He was educated at D.A.V. College, Jallandhar and at the University of Iowa; his family moved to England in 1962. Ranjit Singh Sarkaria (16 January 1916 – 12 October 2007) was an Indian Supreme Court justice from 17 September 1973 until 15 January 1981. Early life Sarkaria was born on 16 January 1916. He attended Mohindra College in Patiala and later obtained an LL.B. from the Government College Lahore, in what is now Pakistan. Career Upon obtaining a law degree Shri Sarkaria worked in Patiala as a pleader. He later took a position as an advocate of the Patiala High Court in 1940. Sarkaria was one of two people on a committee created by the state government of the former Patiala and East Punjab States Union (Pepsu) whose role was to translate the new Constitution of India into the Punjabi language. Rajinder Singh Bedi (1 September 1915 – 1984) was an Indian Urdu writer of the progressive writers' movement and a playwright, who later worked in Hindi cinema as a film director, screenwriter and dialogue writer and he is grandfather Rajat Bedi an Manek Bedi. As a screenwriter and dialogue writer, he is best known for Hrishikesh Mukherjee's films '' Abhimaan'', '' Anupama'' and ''Satyakam''; and Bimal Roy's ''Madhumati''. Rajinder Sachar
Rajindar Sachar (22 December 1923 – 20 April 2018) was an Indian lawyer and a former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. He was a member of United Nations Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and also served as a counsel for the People's Union for Civil Liberties. Sachar chaired the Sachar Committee, constituted by the Government of India, which submitted a report on the social, economic and educational status of Muslims in India. Rajinder Pal (18 November 1937 – 9 May 2018) was an Indian cricketer who played in one Test in 1964. He played first-class cricket in India from 1954 to 1973. Early career An opening bowler, Rajinder Pal made his first-class debut in 1954–55 for Delhi at the age of 17. While he was studying at Delhi University he played for Indian Universities in first-class matches against the New Zealanders in 1955–56 and the Australians in 1959–60, as well as playing for Delhi University in the inter-university competition, the Rohinton Baria Trophy. When Delhi University won the trophy in 1959–60 he took eight wickets in the final. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal (born 30 September 1945) is an Indian politician and member of Congress who served as the 14th Chief Minister of Punjab from 1996 to 1997 and 2nd Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab from 2004 to 2007. Rajinder Krishan Duggal (6 June 1919 – 23 September 1987) also credited as Rajendra Krishan, was an Indian poet, lyricist and screenwriter. Biography Rajinder Krishan was born in a Duggal family at Jalalpur Jattan on 6 June 1919, in Gujrat District (in present-day Pakistan). Even when he was studying in the eighth class he was attracted towards poetry. In his early work life he had a clerk's job in the municipal office in Simla, where he toiled up to 1942. During that period, he read eastern and western authors extensively and wrote poetry. He expresses his indebtedness to the Urdu poetry of Firaq Gorakhpuri and Ahsan Danish, as well as to the Hindi poems of Pant and Nirala. Rajinder Singh Hans (born 10 March 1953) is a former Indian first-class cricketer and coach. He was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and played for Uttar Pradesh between 1976–77 and 1986–87, taking 340 first-class wickets. Hans moved from his birthplace in Bombay to work for Mohan Meakin in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. In the Ranji Trophy final at Narendra Mohan Sports Stadium against Karnataka in 1977–78, he took 9 for 152, which remain the best figures for Ranji Trophy finals; nevertheless, Uttar Pradesh lost by an innings. He played for Central Zone against touring teams and in the Duleep Trophy from 1976–77 to 1984–85.
