Radio Tarang
Radio Tarang was a radio station based in Hisar city of Haryana, India. It was started in 2007 and was owned by Vivek Singhal of Singla Properties. It became non-operational on 12 September 2008 and on 17 July 2009, its license was revoked. During its run, it was the first regional FM channel in India to broadcast British Broadcasting Corporation content on it. Hisar (city)
Hisar is a city, municipal corporation and administrative headquarters of Hisar district of Hisar division in the state of Haryana in northwestern India. It is located 161.2 km (100.16 mi) to the west of New Delhi, India's capital, and has been identified as a counter-magnet city for the National Capital Region to develop as an alternative centre of growth to Delhi. The city was founded in 1354 AD, as ''Hisar-e-Firoza'' by Firoz Shah Tughlaq, the Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388. The word Hisar means fort or castle in Persian. DD Haryana, is a state-owned TV channel, and only government-owned television production center in Haryana, telecasting from the Hisar Doordarshan Kendra in sector-13 of Hisar of Haryana state in India. History ''Hisar Doordershan Kendra'' and TV Studio with Satellite Earth Station and DD-2 transmitter, was officially inaugurated on 1 Nov 2002 in Hisar (city) by the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj who was then Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, though programs were not telecast daily and it began only with the production of 75 minute long news program in Hindi language.
