R40 (South Africa)
The R40 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects the Eswatini border at Bulembu via Barberton, Nelspruit and Hoedspruit with Phalaborwa. The route spans two provinces and passes through several private game reserves. Route Mpumalanga The R40 has its southern terminus on the Eswatini border at the Bulembu Border Post, with the town of Bulembu on the other side of the border. It begins by heading north through the eastern part of the Songimvelo Game Reserve before entering the Mountainlands Nature Reserve, where it turns to the north-west. The R40 enters the northern outskirts of Barberton, where it reaches a junction with the R38 Road and Sheba Road north of the Barberton CBD. The R38 joins the R40 and they are one road west-north-west for 7 km as Dikbas Avenue. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Sabie River
The Sabie River is a river in South Africa that forms part of the Komati River System. The catchment area of the Sabie-Sand system is 6,320 km2 in extent. The Sabie is one of the most biologically diverse rivers in South Africa, with generally good water quality. Course It rises in the Drakensberg escarpment of Mpumalanga province, flowing eastwards into the lowveld. Route Its southern terminus is an interchange with the N4 and the R104 about 14 kilometres east of the Nelspruit (Mbombela) city centre. It begins by heading northwards for 11 kilometres, through Karino, to reach the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport entrance. The N4 is a national route in South Africa that runs from Skilpadshek on the Botswana border, past Rustenburg, Pretoria, eMalahleni and Mbombela, to Komatipoort on the Mozambique border. It forms the South African section of the Trans-Kalahari Corridor, which runs from Walvis Bay to Maputo, meaning that it links the east and west coasts of Southern Africa. Crocodile River (Mpumalanga)
The Crocodile River, also referred to as Crocodile River (East), ( af, Krokodilrivier) is a large river traversing Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It is a tributary of the Komati River. Course It originates north of Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, in the Steenkampsberg Mountains. Downstream of Kwena Dam, the Crocodile River winds through the Schoemanskloof and down the Montrose Falls. The R104 is a regional route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N4, prior to upgrading. It connects Pretoria with Middelburg in Mpumalanga via Bronkhorstspruit and Witbank. It also connects Pretoria with Rustenburg in the North West province via Hartbeespoort and Mooinooi.
