Quickborn
Quickborn is a rich town in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It belongs to Metropolregion Hamburg and is located on the north part of Hamburg on Autobahn A7. Geography Quickborn is located about 18 km north from the centre of Hamburg, on the eastern edge of Kreis Pinneberg. It lies on the A7 between Hamburg and Neumünster. It is situated just 6 km from the Hamburg Airport. Quickborn is also located along the Hamburg-Altona–Neumünster railway, which connects it to the AKN railway and buses of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund. Northwest of Quickborn is the Himmelmoor, the largest raised bog in Schleswig-Holstein, which is about 605 hectares large. It has long been used for peat mining. For this purpose, a narrow-gauge railway was built through the bog. South of the city is the Holmmoor, a nature preserve that is about 110 ha. large. AKN Eisenbahn
AKN Eisenbahn GmbH operates railway lines, commuter trains and freight trains in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Its headquarters is in Kaltenkirchen. It is a member of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV), which organises public transport in and around Hamburg. AKN is an abbreviation for Altona - Kaltenkirchen - Neumünster, its first railway line. Hamburg-Altona–Neumünster Railway
The Hamburg-Altona–Neumünster railway is the original line of the AKN Eisenbahn (railway) in the German states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Today, passenger services on the 64.5 km-long Hamburg Eidelstedt–Neumünster section are operated by AKN. The stations on the current line of A1 between Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and Eidelstedt in the Hamburg urban area were not part of the original route and are served only occasionally by the AKN. History On 8 September 1884, the ''Altona-Kaltenkirchner Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft'' (Altona-Kaltenkirchen Railway Company), which was established in the previous year, opened the line from Altona to Kaltenkirchen for passenger traffic. Franz Josef Degenhardt
Franz Josef Degenhardt (3 December 193114 November 2011) was a German poet, satirist, novelist, and – first and foremost – a folksinger/songwriter ( Liedermacher) with decidedly left-wing politics. He was also a lawyer, bearing the academic degree of Doctor of Law. Degenhardt was born in Schwelm, Westphalia. After studying law from 1952 to 1956 in Cologne and Freiburg, he passed the first German state bar examination in 1956 and the second in 1960. In 1961, he worked for the Europa-Institut of the University at Saarbrücken, where he obtained his doctorate in 1966. Degenhardt joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in 1961, but was forced out in 1971 because of his support for the German Communist Party (DKP), which he joined in 1978. From the early 1960s onward, in addition to practicing law, Degenhardt was also performing and releasing recordings. Pinneberg () is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the northwest and clockwise) the districts of Steinburg and Segeberg, the city (and state) of Hamburg and the state of Lower Saxony (district Stade). The island of Heligoland is also part of the district. History The district is roughly identical to the former county of Holstein-Pinneberg. It was established by the Prussian administration in 1867. Daniel Matthias Heinrich Mohr
Daniel Matthias Heinrich Mohr (8 April 1780, Quickborn – 26 August 1808, Kiel) was a German botanist. As a young botanist from Schleswig-Holstein, he started his career as a pupil of Johan Christian Fabricius at Kiel and Heinrich Adolf Schrader at the University of Göttingen. He later became a professor of zoology and botany, and his research projects focused on algae and bryophytes. He named many species (often together with Friedrich Weber) and was among the first to systematise algae by means of their reproduction. In 1803 he obtained his doctorate from the University of Kiel with the dissertation ''Observationes Botanicae quibus plantarum cryptogamarum ordines''. is the longest German Autobahn and the longest national motorway in Europe at 963 km (598 mi). It bisects the country almost evenly between east and west. In the north, it starts at the border with Denmark as an extension of the Danish part of E45. In the south, the autobahn ends at the Austrian border. This final gap was closed in September 2009. Uckfield () is a town in the Wealden District of East Sussex in South East England. The town is on the River Uck, one of the tributaries of the River Ouse, on the southern edge of the Weald.
