Qazi Abdur Rehman Amritsari
Qazi Abdur Rehman Amritsari (Urdu: قاضی عبد الرحمن امرتسری) was a school teacher and Urdu language author and poet. He was born in 1908 in Amritsar, British India. He was the person who proposed the name of the new capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, in 1959. According to a history book by Muhammad Ismail Zabeeh, Qazi Abdur Rehman Amritsari proposed the name of the city. The Government of Pakistan confirmed on 11 March 1960 that the name of Islamabad is proposed by Qazi Abdur Rehman Amritsari in a letter sent to him by the Federal Capital Commission. He received his primary education in the government high school in Amritsar and then studied at the Government Islamia College in Lahore. After migration in 1947 he worked as a school teacher in the Sahiwal District. He retired in 1968 and died on 25 April 1990 in Arif Wala, Punjab, Pakistan. Sahiwal District
Sahiwal District (Punjabi language, Punjabi and ur, ), formerly known as Montgomery district, is a Districts of Pakistan, district in the Punjab (Pakistan), Punjab Subdivisions of Pakistan, province of Pakistan. Choudhry Rahmat Ali
Chaudhry Rahmat Ali (; ur, ; 16 November 1897 – 3 February 1951) was a Pakistani nationalist who was one of the earliest proponents of the creation of the state of Pakistan. He is credited with creating the name "Pakistan" for a separate Muslim homeland in South Asia and is generally known as the originator of the Pakistan Movement. Chaudhry Rehmat Ali’s seminal contribution was when he was a law student at the University of Cambridge in 1933, in the form of a pamphlet " ''Now or Never; Are We to Live or Perish Forever?''", also known as the " Pakistan Declaration". The pamphlet was addressed to the British and Indian delegates to the Third Round Table Conference in London. Arif Wala
Arifwala (Punjabi language, Punjabi and ur, ) is a city and headquarters of Arif Wala Tehsil of Pakpattan District in the Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab province of Pakistan. Government Islamia College Civil Lines ( ur, اسلامیہ کالج ), formerly called Dayanand Anglo Vedic College, is a government college in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
