Qatari Connection Affair
The Qatari connection affair, also called "Qatargate" (), is a political affair in Israel, centered on the allegation that close advisors to Prime Minister of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as a lieutenant colonel in the Military reserve, reserves, were paid by representatives of the Politics of Qatar, government of Qatar, an ally and financial supporter of Hamas, to promote its interests in the country. In March 2025, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar affirmed that the agency was investigating the affair, which he described as complex and multi-faceted. The scandal has resulted in the arrests of at least two of Netanyahu's top aides for unlawful ties to a country which supports Hamas. Channel 13 () is an Israeli free-to-air television channel operated by Reshet Media. It was launched on 1 November 2017 as one of two replacements of the outgoing Channel 2. Yair Golan (; born 14 May 1962) is an Israeli politician, the leader of the Democrats party, and reserve major general in the Israel Defense Forces.
