Priit Pärn
Priit Pärn (born 26 August 1946 in Tallinn) is an Estonian cartoonist and animation director whose films have enjoyed success among critics as well as the public at various film festivals. Pärn formerly worked as a plant ecologist; his career in animation began when he accepted Rein Raamat's proposal to make a design for ''Kilplased'' (1974). After a brief apprenticeship in Joonisfilm, he directed his first film ''Is the Earth Round?'' in 1977. Pärn's most important films are considered to be ''Triangle'' (1982), ''Breakfast on the Grass'' (1987), ''Hotel E'' (1992), ''1895'' (co-directed by Janno Põldma, 1995) and ''Night of the Carrots'' (1998). Pärn's style is characterized by black humour, playful surrealism and a unique graphic style. His somewhat crude style marked the departure from both Rein Raamat's overtly serious and moralizing films as well as the Disneyesque style propagated by the directors of Soyuzmultfilm. Tallinn
Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of 437,811 (as of 2022) and administratively lies in the Harju '' maakond'' (county). Olga Pärn
Olga Pärn (née Marchenko; born 1 January 1976) is a Belarusian-Estonian animator, film director and illustrator. She was born in Minsk and graduated from Belarusian State Academy of Arts in graphic arts. Afterwards, she graduated from La Poudrière animation school in Valence, studying film direction. She is working at Estonian Academy of Arts, being a visiting professor there. Her illustrations are awarded several times. In 2015, she won the special price of the Estonian Children's Literature Centre because of her illustrations for the children's book "Telephone Tales". Tampere Film Festival
The Tampere Film Festival ( fi, Tampereen elokuvajuhlat) is a short film festival held every March, mostly at the Finnkino Plevna movie theatre, in Tampere, Finland. It is accredited by the film producers' society FIAPF, and together with the short film festivals in Oberhausen and Clermont-Ferrand, it is among the most important European short film festivals. The first festival was held in 1969, and since 1970, it has been held in its current form, which makes it the oldest short film festival in Northern Europe. Approximately 500 short films are screened during the five days of the festival each year. Plot The film is about a cat who loses his time, trying to do many things simultaneously and fails at everything. After that, time breaks apart, and he travels to the world of the infinite absurd. In the end, all returns to its place and problems.
