Poul Nesgaard
Poul Nesgaard (born 19 June 1952) is a Danish journalist, television producer and art administrator, currently director of the National Film School of Denmark. Biography Nesgaard started working for national Danish broadcaster DR and over the following 20 years he was responsible for a long line of unorthodox television programmes for children and young people, both as a producer and a host. In 1992 he was appointed director of the National Film School of Denmark, replacing Henning Camre who went to England to lead the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. Television Producer
A television producer is a person who oversees one or more aspects of video production on a television show, television program. Some producers take more of an executive role, in that they conceive new programs and pitch them to the television networks, but upon acceptance they focus on business matters, such as budgets and contracts. Other producers are more involved with the day-to-day workings, participating in activities such as screenwriting, Scenic design, set design, Casting (performing arts), casting, and directing. The National Film School of Denmark ( da, Den Danske Filmskole) is an independent institution under the Ministry of Culture of Denmark, Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs. It was established in 1966 and is based on Holmen, Copenhagen, Holmen in the harbour of Copenhagen. DR (broadcaster)
DR (), officially the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in English, is a Danish public-service radio and television broadcasting company. Founded in 1925 as a public-service organization, it is Denmark's oldest and largest electronic media enterprise. DR is a founding member of the European Broadcasting Union. Henning Camre
Henning Camre (born 15 November 1938) is a Danish cinematographer and film industry administrator, currently President of the Think Tank on European Film and Film Policy. He started out as a cinematographer in the first half of the 1970s before he became the principal of first the Danish Film School and then the National Film and Television School in England before he became a Director and reformer of the Danish Film Institute. Biography Henning Camre was born in Randers in 1938 to manufacturer Sigfred Niels Juel Camre and wife Carna Petersen. He was educated at the University of Copenhagen and the newly founded National Film School of Denmark as a cinematographer. In the first half of the 1970s he worked with Danish directors Jørgen Leth and Henrik Stangerup. In 1971 he won a Bodil Award for his cinematography on Stangerup's ''Giv Gud en chance om søndagen''. The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is a film, television and games school established in 1971 and based at Beaconsfield Studios in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England. It is featured in the 2021 ranking by ''The Hollywood Reporter'' of the top 15 International film schools. Its community of students makes around a hundred and fifty films a year on courses that are over 90% practical and unlike courses offered at other UK film schools. Beaconsfield ( ) is a market town and civil parish within the unitary authority of Buckinghamshire, England, west-northwest of central London and south-southeast of Aylesbury. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television.
