''Pondatti Thevai'' () is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Parthiban. The film stars himself and newcomer Ashwini. Produced by A. Sundaram, it was released on 14 April 1990. Plot Kannan, a bus conductor, falls in love with Shanthi, a Brahmin girl. After seeing Shanthi answering in a TV interview in which the anchor asks questions regarding marriage and married life, Kannan tells to his colleague Naidu that he wants to marry Shanthi. One day he spots Shanthi boarding the bus, she loses her pass and he helps her when checking inspectors question her. He tries to woo her and she reciprocates his feelings. He enters into agraharam and to Shanthi's house disguised as beggar to see her. Shanthi also visits his home and tries to cook non-vegetarian food. Ashwini was an Indian actress, primarily in Telugu and Tamil films. She appeared in more than 100 films in various South Indian languages. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968.
