Peter Åslin
Peter Karl Åslin (21 September 1962 – 19 January 2012) was a Swedish national team ice hockey goaltender. Åslin started his international career by winning the IIHF World U20 Championship in 1981, which was Sweden's lone world junior gold for 31 years until the win in Calgary in 2012. Åslin won three Swedish championships; two with AIK of Stockholm in 1982 and 1984, and one with HV71 of Jönköping in 1995. He medalled in each of the four men's World Championships he participated in: gold medal in 1992 in Prague and three silver medals; in 1986, 1990 and 1993. Åslin won an Olympic bronze medal in Calgary in 1988. Åslin played 91 national team games for Sweden. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. 1981 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 1981 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''1981 WJHC'') was the fifth edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship and was held from December 27, 1980, until January 2, 1981. The tournament was held in Füssen, West Germany. Sweden won the gold medal, while Finland won the silver, and the Soviet Union bronze. Pool A The 1981 tournament divided participants into two divisions of four teams, each playing three games. The top two teams in each division advanced to the A division in the medal round, while the bottom two were placed in a B division. Each division played another round robin. AIK IF Players
AIK Fotboll (), more commonly known simply as AIK (), an abbreviation for Allmänna Idrottsklubben (meaning ''the public'' or ''general sports club''), is a Swedish football club competing in Allsvenskan, the top flight of Swedish football. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey.
