Perodua Axia
The Perodua Axia is a five-door hatchback produced by Malaysian automobile manufacturer Perodua. It was launched on 15 September 2014 as the successor to the Perodua Viva, Viva. The car takes over the title of being the most affordable car in Malaysia from the Viva, and the best-selling car in Malaysia for three consecutive years, between 2015 until 2017. The Axia is the first model to debut from Perodua's all-new second factory in Rawang, Selangor, Rawang, Selangor. Etymology The name ‘Axia’, which is pronounced ‘a-zee-a’ or ‘A-xia’, is derived from the Greek Language, Greek word ‘ΑΞΙΑ’ (axia) which means value. The (''Second Automobile Manufacturer Private Limited''), usually abbreviated to Perodua (), is Malaysia's largest car manufacturer, followed by PROTON Holdings, Proton. History It was established in 1992 and launched its first car, the Perodua Kancil, in August 1994. 'M2' refers to the codename which was used when the project to establish Perodua was still top secret. Initially Perodua mainly produced minicars and superminis, and did not have models in the same market segments as Proton. Rawang, Selangor
Rawang is a town and a mukim in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia, about 23 km northwest of city centre Kuala Lumpur. History Rawang was founded in the early-19th century and was one of Kuala Lumpur earliest satellite towns. During the initial tin mining growth of Kuala Lumpur, many tin mines were explored and opened north of Kuala Lumpur, starting initially at the Ulu Kelang area and gradually moving northwards past Selayang and towards Rawang.
