Terengganu State Legislative Assembly
The Terengganu State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Terengganu) is the unicameral state legislature of the Malaysian state of Terengganu. It consists of 32 members representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart, and are customarily held alongside elections to the federal parliament during a general election. In a first-past-the-post electoral system (FPTP or FPP), formally called single-member plurality voting (SMP) when used in single-member districts or informally choose-one voting in contrast to ranked voting, or score voting, voters cast their vote for a candidate of their choice, and the candidate who receives the most votes wins even if the top candidate gets less than 50%, which can happen when there are more than two popular candidates. As a winner-take-all method, FPTP often produces disproportional results (when electing members of an assembly, such as a parliament) in the sense that political parties do not get representation according to their share of the popular vote. Mohd Jidin Shafee
Datuk Mohd Jidin bin Shafee (born 4 April 1956) is a Malaysian politician. He was a one-term Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Setiu constituency in Terengganu, Malaysia from 2008 to 2013. Mohd Jidin also holds the seat of Permaisuri in the State Assembly of Terengganu for three times (1995-1999, 2004-2008 and 2013–2018). His long tenure in the assembly, which included a stint as a member of the State Executive Council, was interrupted in 2008 when he was elected to the Parliament of Malaysia for the seat of Setiu.
