Mohd Jidin Shafee
Datuk Mohd Jidin bin Shafee (born 4 April 1956) is a Malaysian politician. He was a one-term Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Setiu constituency in Terengganu, Malaysia from 2008 to 2013. Mohd Jidin also holds the seat of Permaisuri in the State Assembly of Terengganu for three times (1995-1999, 2004-2008 and 2013–2018). His long tenure in the assembly, which included a stint as a member of the State Executive Council, was interrupted in 2008 when he was elected to the Parliament of Malaysia for the seat of Setiu. He returned to the State Assembly in the 2013 election, in his old seat of Permaisuri, and was reappointed to the Executive Council with responsibilities for tourism, information, communications and culture. He was conferred the title of Datuk in 2007. Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (born 9 July 1964) is a Malaysian politician and former member of parliament for Setiu, Terengganu for a term from 2013 to 2018 and is the incumbent member of parliament for Besut since November 2022. The Parti Melayu Semangat 46 or ''Spirit of 46 Malay Party (S46)'' is a now defunct Malaysian political party. The party was formed in 1988, and dissolved in 1996. It was formed by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah's "Team B" faction of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), as a challenge to prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and UMNO. Razaleigh had the personal support of former UMNO prime ministers Tunku Abdul Rahman and Hussein Onn, both of whom had also fallen out with Mahathir. Establishment The idea of Semangat 46 first came about in 1985 or 1986 when Malaysia was experiencing an economic recession. 1995 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held between Monday, 24 April and Tuesday, 25 April 1995 for members of the 9th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 192 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 394 state constituencies in 11 out of 13 states of Malaysia (except Sabah and Sarawak) on the same day. The Election Commission of Malaysia ( ms, Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia), abbreviated SPR or EC, is a commission set up for ensuring fair and equitable operations in undertaking the elections in Malaysia. Its establishment is mandated by executive order of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. The agency falls under the purview of the Prime Minister's Department. 2013 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 5 May 2013 to elect the members of the 13th Parliament. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 of the 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The elections were the first since Najib Razak became Prime Minister in 2009. The incumbent right-wing Barisan Nasional led by Najib won a second term against the opposition centre-left Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, after Barisan Nasional formed a majority government at a federal level. Setiu
Setiu is one of the districts in Terengganu, Malaysia. This district is bordered by Besut to the north, Hulu Terengganu to the south, and on the east, Kuala Nerus District. Setiu is the second youngest and least populated district in Terengganu. Its capital is Bandar Permaisuri which also serves as its economic and commercial centre. Other towns are Chalok, Sungai Tong, Guntong and Penarik. Etymology and history The district of ''Setiu'' is believed to have taken its name from a ''Tok Setiu'', a Bugis commander who escaped the Dutch conquest of the Indonesian archipelago in the 19th century and immigrated to Terengganu.
