A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), ''téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and '' sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Julio Porter (July 14, 1916 in Buenos Aires – October 24, 1979 in Mexico City) was an Argentine screenwriter and film director known as one of the most prolific screenwriters and film directors in the history of the Cinema of Argentina. He wrote the scripts for over 100 films between 1942 and his death. He directed 25 films between 1951 and 1979. Fanny Cano
Fanny Cano Damián (28 February 1944 – 7 December 1983) was a Mexican actress and producer. Death Cano died on 7 December 1983, in an airplane accident in Madrid, Spain. Her flight was an Iberia 727 which was about to take off for Rome in connection to final destination India, at the same time as an Aviaco DC 9 was leaving to Santander. The aircraft collided with each other on the runway resulting in 93 deaths. She was killed in the fire after the crash. Her spouse, Sergio, was scheduled to be on the flight, but was called away on business at the last moment and was not on board. Las Estrellas ("The Stars"; previously El Canal de las Estrellas, or "The Channel of the Stars") is one of the cornerstone networks of TelevisaUnivision, with affiliate stations all over Mexico, flagshipped at XEW-TDT in Mexico City. Grupo Televisa is a Mexican multimedia mass media company. A major Latin American mass media corporation, it often presents itself as the largest producer of Spanish-language content. Germán Robles
Germán Horacio Robles San Agustín (March 20, 1929 – November 21, 2015) was a Spanish actor who came to Mexico when he was 17, after Spain's civil war. In Mexican cinema, he is best known for his amazing characterization of vampires in many cult movies, especially in ''El Vampiro''. He is said to have influenced Christopher Lee’s performance in his vampire films. Another well known performance is his dubbing the voice of KITT in the Latin American broadcast of ''Knight Rider''. Leonor Llausás Tostado (August 3, 1929 - February 13, 2003) was a Mexican television and film actress who appeared in over 100 works of film and television. She was nominated multiple times for the Ariel Awards and won a Best Actress award in 1955 from the film Los Fernandez we peralvillo, in 1975 won Diosa de Plata (Silver Goddess Award) for Las poquianchis. She also was awarded the "Virginia Fabregas" medal of honor by the Mexican National Association of Actors. Biography Leonor Llausás Tostado was born in Durango, Mexico on August 3, 1929. Wolf Rubinsky
Wolf Ruvinskis (October 31, 1921 – November 9, 1999), born Wolf Ruvinskis Manevics, was a Latvian-Mexican actor and professional wrestler. He was married to dancer Armida Herrera. Born to a Latvian mother and a Ukrainian father, of Jewish background, they relocated to Argentina in 1923. In spite of living in extreme poverty he excelled in sports and as a professional wrestler he toured South America, the United States and Mexico. This last country became his place of residence where he stayed in the ring well into the 1960s, wrestling El Santo, Black Shadow, El Médico Asesino and Lobo Negro.
