Paul Graham (basketball Player)
Paul Graham (born November 28, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. He played four years of college basketball for Ohio where he averaged 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 110 career games. Coming out of college, Graham moved to Australia in 1990 where he joined the Goldfields Giants of the Western Australian State League. He played in 10 games for the Giants before departing the club mid-season to return to the United States for an NBA tryout. In his final game for the Giants, he scored a league record equalling 82 points in a 155–134 win over the Willetton Tigers. Over his 10-game stint, he averaged 43.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. Upon his return to the United States, Graham joined the Albany Patroons of the Continental Basketball Association for the 1990–91 season. Eastern Basketball Alliance
The Eastern Basketball Alliance was a semi-professional men's winter basketball league. Games were played on the weekends and the season was approximately four months long (January through April). History The EBA was formed in 1996 from the fledgling Atlantic Basketball Association. The league played its first season with seven teams. In 1997, the league expanded to ten teams and was incorporated. In 1998, the first EBA commissioner was elected. From 1999 to 2001, the EBA joined with four ABA teams to form the United Basketball Alliance, but in 2002 they returned to being the EBA. The EBA took a one-year (2015-16 season) hiatus. United States Basketball League
The United States Basketball League (USBL) was a professional men's spring basketball league. The league was formed in 1985 and ceased operations in 2008. The USBL started in 1985 as one of the first basketball leagues to play a late-spring to early-summer schedule. The league quickly became known as a development league for players, with many players moving up to the National Basketball Association, NBA and many more playing in Europe after stints here. In 1996, the league made a stock offering, a rarity among sports leagues. However, in later years, the league declined as rival leagues appeared and USBL had a tougher time replacing teams that folded. In the last two seasons, the league was mainly a midwestern league, with teams mainly in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Willetton Tigers is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. NBL1 West, formerly the State Basketball League (SBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Western Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. NBL1 replaced the former SBL to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Western Australia.
