Patti McGrath
Patricia Anne Newton (née McGrath; born 4 February 1945) is an Australian singer, actress, dancer, stage performer and radio and television presenter. Life and career Prior to her marriage, Newton worked under her birth name, Patti McGrath, when she appeared on programs such as the ''Tarax Show'' and ''The Graham Kennedy Show''. In 1967, she won the Logie Award for Most Popular Female in Victoria. She has appeared in many stage shows, and has made television appearances on '' Good Morning Australia'' and the Logie Awards. Newton was married to fellow Australian entertainer Bert Newton from 9 November 1974 until his death on 30 October 2021. She often appeared with him and Bert Newton sometimes referred to her as "Patricia Anne Therese Bernadette McGrath Newton". She is the mother of Lauren and Matthew Newton. ''Bert's Family Feud'' was an Australian game show remake based on the American show of the same name. The series was produced by Grundy Television in conjunction with FremantleMedia. It was broadcast on the Nine Network and hosted by Bert Newton. The title refers to host Bert Newton as the show intended to feature celebrities and their families as contestants. ''20 to One'' (known as ''20 to 1'' before 2016) is an Australian television series on the Nine Network from 2005, that counts down an undefined "top 20" of elements or events of popular culture, such as films, songs, or sporting scandals. The format mixes archival footage of the listed events with comments from various Australian celebrities. Originally the show was hosted by Bud Tingwell and narrated by David Reyne; the pair were replaced by Bert Newton as host for the second season. The series was rebooted by the Nine Network and returned for its eleventh season on 31 May 2016 with new hosts, Australian radio presenters Fitzy and Wippa. ''Postcards'' is an Australian holiday and travel television series on the Nine Network. History There were originally three different versions of ''Postcards'', each produced and broadcast within its specific city or market. In 1995, Adelaide's Nine Network produced their first series. It promoted holiday spots within South Australia, encouraging viewers to travel within their state. Soon after, the Nine Network in Melbourne launched their own state-based version and Nine Network in Perth followed in 1999 with ''Postcards WA''. In 2007, WIN Television purchased Nine Network in Adelaide and Perth. ''Celebrity Squares'' is a British comedy game show based on the American comedy game show ''The Hollywood Squares, Hollywood Squares''. ''In Melbourne Tonight'', also known as ''IMT'', was a highly popular nightly Logie award-winning Australian variety television show produced at GTV-9 Melbourne from 6 May 1957 to 1970. Overview Graham Kennedy was the show's main host and star attraction, but other presenters were often called on to present the show on certain nights. ''In Melbourne Tonight'' had as many as 50 different presenters over its 13 years on air. The format of the show was inspired by the American ''Tonight Show'' on NBC, but Kennedy's exuberant charisma was the key to the success of ''IMT''.
