Ted Hamilton
Edward Leslie "Ted" Hamilton ( OAM) (born 1937), is an Australian singer, composer, playwright, entrepreneur, and actor. He is known for playing the Pirate King in '' The Pirate Movie'' and police constable Kevin Dwyer in ''Division 4'' (1969–73). More recently, he played Merlin in the TV series ''Guinevere Jones''. He also played in ''Homicide'', ''The Love Boat'', ''M*A*S*H'', ''The Six Million Dollar Man'', ''Hawaii Five-O'', '' Mission: Impossible'', and ''Rafferty's Rules''. Biography In 1955, Hamilton began performing in nightclubs, and live on national radio. He guest starred on ''The Ford Show'', ''Calling The Stars'' and '' The Gladys Moncrieff Show''. He also had hit records with "Primrose Lane" and "The Things We Did Last Summer". Order Of Australia
The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. ''Rafferty's Rules'' is an Australian television drama series which ran from 1987 to 1991 on the Seven Network. The producers of the series were Posie Graeme-Evans (1987–1988), and Denis Phelen. The directors were Graham Thorburn, Mike Smith and Russell Webb. The writers were David Allen, John Upton, Tim Gooding and David Marsh. ''Rafferty's Rules'' was one of the first programs undertaken by the Seven Network's then new in-house drama unit, going into production in May 1985 as "a 15-part courtroom drama". Don Burrows
Donald Vernon Burrows (8 August 1928 – 12 March 2020) was an Australian jazz and swing musician who played clarinet, saxophone and flute. Life and career Donald Vernon Burrows was born on 8 August 1928, the only child of Vernon and Beryl and attended Bondi Public School. In 1937 a visiting flutist and teacher (Victor McMahon) inspired him to start learning the flute. He began on a B-flat flute which he later played at Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival. By 1940 he was captain of the Metropolitan Schools Flute Band and studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. By 1942, Burrows had begun playing clarinet and appeared on ''The Youth Show'', a Macquarie Radio show. In 1944 he was invited to play and record with George Trevare's Australians. ''Sydney Tonight'' was an Australian television variety series which aired from December 1956 to early 1959 on Sydney station ATN-7. Originally compered by Keith Walshe, it was later hosted by Roy Hampson and re-titled ''Tonight''. The series featured a format including guests, interviews, audience participation, and music. Like ''In Melbourne Tonight'', which came later, it was patterned on the groundbreaking U.S. series ''Tonight Starring Steve Allen''. Samuel Robert Gibson (November 16, 1931 – September 28, 1996) was an American folk singer and a key figure in the folk music revival in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His principal instruments were banjo and 12-string guitar. He introduced a then-unknown Joan Baez at the Newport Folk Festival of 1959. He produced a number of LPs in the decade from 1956 to 1965. His best known album, ''Gibson & Camp at the Gate of Horn'', was released in 1961. His songs have been recorded by, among others, The Limeliters, Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, The Byrds, The Smothers Brothers, Phil Ochs, The Kingston Trio and Bob Dylan. His career was interrupted by his addiction to drugs and alcohol. "Tell Him No" is a 1959 song by Travis and Bob and was the only Top 40 hit for the duo in the United States while peaking at #1 in Canada and the Netherlands. The song also reached #1 in the Netherlands with cover versions by Dean and Marc, The Mudlarks and The Fouryo's. Background "Tell Him No" was written about a boy telling a girl to watch out for another boy interested in her. Recording "Tell Him No" was planned to be the B-side for Travis and Bob's cover of "All I Have to Do Is Dream" by The Everly Brothers. Its members were Travis Wilbon Pritchett (March 18, 1939, Jackson – October 18, 2010, Mobile) and Bob Weaver (born July 27, 1939, Jackson).
