Partner (cigarette)
Partner was a Macedonian brand of cigarettes that was owned and manufactured by ''Makedonija Tabak''. History The brand was founded after the end of World War II and was manufactured by the company "Makedonija Tabak", in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. It was one of the few Yugoslavian brands sold outside of Yugoslavia, in the Soviet Union, Poland, Finland and Japan. While Partner wasn't as known or popular as Drina, Jadran or Lovćen, it still sold well within socialist Macedonia and, to a lesser extent, socialist Serbia. However, during the breakup of Yugoslavia, the company suffered and eventually the brand ceased to exist, several years after Macedonia became its own country. Due to the fact that this brand looked and sounded foreign compared to similar brands sold in Yugoslavia, it was always seen as the "odd" and "foreign" brand on the market. Packaging The pack has a white-blue pattern, with two horses holding a coat of arms with two flower-like symbols. Undernea ...

Cigarette
A cigarette is a narrow cylinder containing a combustible material, typically tobacco, that is rolled into thin paper for smoking. The cigarette is ignited at one end, causing it to smolder; the resulting smoke is orally inhaled via the opposite end. Cigarette smoking is the most common method of tobacco consumption. The term ''cigarette'', as commonly used, refers to a tobacco cigarette, but the word is sometimes used to refer to other substances, such as a cannabis cigarette or an herbal cigarette. A cigarette is distinguished from a cigar by its usually smaller size, use of processed leaf, and paper wrapping, which is typically white. Since the 1920s, scientists and doctors have been able to link smoking with respiratory illness. Researchers have identified negative health effects from smoking cigarettes such as cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, and other health problems relating to nearly every organ of the body. Nicotine, the psycho ...

Time (cigarette)
Time ( he, טיים) is an Israeli brand of cigarettes, currently owned and manufactured by Dubek. History The Time brand, first launched in 1965, is the most popular cigarette brand in Israel. It is an American blend cigarette, available in two lengths: 80 mm and 100 mm. In March 2013, it was reported that Dubek contacted Ben Ezra, the Kashrut, Kosher supervisor, to approve their brands (which are Noblesse, Time and Golf) as Kosher for Passover. During the holiday, Jewish law forbids Chametz – anything consisting of grains that may have come in contact with water, starting the process of fermentation. Some Jews, including many who are not religiously observant the rest of the year, spend weeks before Passover cleaning their homes and belongings to rid them of any morsel of food considered to be Chametz. In January 2015, as taxes on cigarettes were increased in Israel, Time cigarettes were sold significantly less as consumers chose to buy cheaper brands. Marketin ...

Morava was a Serbian brand of cigarettes which was owned and manufactured by Philip Morris Operations. History Morava was founded in the Socialist Republic of Serbia and named after the river Morava, by which the majority of cigarettes were delivered. Tobacco was forbidden at the time, but, following riots, the law was amended to forbid only the plant. Filter 57 (cigarette)
Filter 57 is a Slovenian brand of cigarettes, owned and manufactured by ''"Tobačna Ljubljana'', a division of Imperial Tobacco. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, the cigarettes are known as ''"57"'' and are manufactured by the Iranian Tobacco Company. History The brand was created in 1957 in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia and also became the first filtered cigarette in Yugoslavia. The difference from other brands at the time, such as Drina, Jadran, Drava and so on, was that these cigarettes were packed upside down, which made them a really popular smoke amongst the Slovenian working class. The reason for this, was that during work time, the hands of these workers were often dirty, and thus when they would grab a cigarette by the filter, it would get dirty too. However, if the filter laid at the bottom, the paper would get dirty when grabbed, but that wouldn't a problem because it would get burned up anyway, allowing the worker to place the filter in the mouth cleanly. In fa ...

Tobacco Smoking
Tobacco smoking is the practice of burning tobacco and ingesting the resulting smoke. The smoke may be inhaled, as is done with cigarettes, or simply released from the mouth, as is generally done with pipes and cigars. The practice is believed to have begun as early as 5000–3000 BC in Mesoamerica and South America. Tobacco was introduced to Eurasia in the late 17th century by European colonists, where it followed common trade routes. The practice encountered criticism from its first import into the Western world onwards but embedded itself in certain strata of a number of societies before becoming widespread upon the introduction of automated cigarette-rolling apparatus. Smoking is the most common method of consuming tobacco, and tobacco is the most common substance smoked. The agricultural product is often mixed with additives and then combusted. The resulting smoke is then inhaled and the active substances absorbed through the alveoli in the lungs or the oral mucosa. Many ...
