Puntland Highway Authority
Puntland Highway Authority (PHA) is a government body, established by law no.18 , in the year 2000, in charge of road transportation and infrastructure and responsible for maintaining and developing the road network throughout in the autonomous Puntland state, situated in northeastern Somalia. It is thus of utmost necessity for Puntland Highway Authority to adhere to standard engineering procedures and principles. The community leaders inspired Puntland Highway Authority in Puntland in 1996. It had been operating two years before forming the Regional Autonomy of Puntland in 1998. Overview In 2012, the Puntland Highway Authority completed rehabilitation work on the central artery linking Puntland's administrative capital Garowe with Galkayo, another major city in the region. Government Of Puntland
The Government of Puntland ( so, Dowlada Buntlaand ee Soomaaliya) is the supreme governing authority of the Autonomous region of Puntland State of Somalia. The legal structure of Puntland consists of the judiciary, legislative (House of Representatives) and the executive (the President and his nominated council of Ministries) branches of government. Puntland has conducted four presidential elections (1998, 2004, 2009, 2014). Presidents are elected by a 66-member unicameral parliament. Since 1998, the governing bodies have been located in the regional capital of Garowe. Qardho ( so, Qardho, ar, قرضو), also known as Gardo, is a city in the northeastern Bari region of Somalia, a district within the autonomous state of Puntland. History Until Somalia's Independence Qardho is one of a series of ancient settlements in northern Somalia. Bargal ( so, Baargaal, ar, بارجال) is a town in the northeastern Bari region of Puntland, Somalia. Location Bargal is situated in the mountainous Bari province of the autonomous Puntland state. Hafun
Hafun ( so, Xaafuun; ar, حافون; grc, Οπώνη, Opṓnē, it, Dante) is a town in the northeastern Bari province of Somalia. Jariban
Jariban ( so, Jariiban, ar, جاريبان, it, Geriban) is a town in the north-central Mudug region of Somalia. It is the center of the Jariban District. It is administered by Puntland. Demographics Jariban has a population of approximately 20,000 inhabitants. The Jariban District has a total population of 39,207 residents.
