Pulse (video Game)
''Pulse'' (full title: ''Pulse: Volume One'') is a music game developed by Philadelphia-based studio Cipher Prime. The game was released in 2011 for iPad and in 2013 for Android. In June 2013 it was offered along with ''Aquaria (video game), Aquaria'', ''Organ Trail'', ''Stealth Bastard Deluxe'', and ''Fractal (video game), Fractal'' as part of the Humble Bundle with Android 6. Gameplay ''Pulses interface displays a fixed set of concentric rings, and a colorful moving ring that radiates from the center of the screen. Circular nodes appear atop the concentric rings, and the player conducts music by tapping the nodes when the ring of color intersects them. Soundtrack The original ''Pulse: Volume One'' soundtrack was composed and recorded in-house by Cipher Prime co-founder Dain Saint and Kerry Gilbert. Cipher Prime
Cipher Prime is a video game development studio based in Philadelphia. The company was founded in 2008. Cipher Prime is best known for its titles Auditorium (2008), Fractal (2010), and Splice (2012). On February 27, 2012, Cipher Prime launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a sequel to Auditorium titled Auditorium 2: Duet. The Kickstarter campaign successfully met its funding goal. In 2014, an early development version of Auditorium 2: Duet was available to play through the Indie Media Exchange showcase at SIGGRAPH in Vancouver. ''Aquaria'' is a side-scrolling action-adventure game designed by Alec Holowka and Derek Yu, who published the game in 2007 as the independent game company Bit Blot. The game follows Naija, an aquatic humanoid woman, as she explores the underwater world of Aquaria. Along her journey, she learns about the history of the world she inhabits as well as her own past. The gameplay focuses on a combination of swimming, singing, and combat, through which Naija can interact with the world. Her songs can move items, affect plants and animals, and change her physical appearance into other forms that have different abilities, like firing projectiles at hostile creatures, or passing through barriers inaccessible to her in her natural form. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Jim Guthrie is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He has recorded both as a solo artist and as a member of the bands Islands, Royal City and Human Highway.
