Pua Kumbu
Pua Kumbu is a traditional patterned multicolored ceremonial cotton cloth used by the Iban people in Sarawak, Malaysia. Legends on the origins of Iban weaving There are many legends about the origin of Pua Kumbu rare, all revolving around the characters of Menggin and Dara Tinchin. The story starts with Menggin, an Iban hunter who shot a beautiful bird with his blowpipe. As he ran to retrieve his game, what he found was a woven skirt instead of a bird. He kept the woven skirt as he had never seen one before. However, he did not know that it belonged to Dara Tinchin Temaga, eldest daughter of a ''petara'' known as Singalang Burong. She was looking for her ''kain'' everywhere. When she met Menggin, he returned the skirt. In return, Dara married Menggin, although she was already married. Iban People
The Ibans or Sea Dayaks are a branch of the Dayak peoples on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. Dayak is a title given by the westerners to the local people of Borneo island. It is believed that the term "Iban" was originally an exonym used by the Kayans, who – when they initially came into contact with them – referred to the Sea Dayaks in the upper Rajang river region as the "Hivan". Ibans were renowned for practicing headhunting and territorial migration, and had a fearsome reputation as a strong and successfully warring tribe. Since the arrival for Europeans and the subsequent colonisation of the area, headhunting gradually faded out of practice, although many other tribal customs and practices as well as the Iban language continue to thrive. TV Pendidikan
TV Pendidikan, also abbreviated as TVP (known as DidikTV KPM (under Media Prima Berhad)) is a Malaysian educational television network owned, produced and operated by Ministry of Education. The network will be airing educational programming for various school subjects. The network does not air advertisements during program break times, instead it is only aired after the end of programs. Most of adverts aired on the network were primarily from government agencies. The network's affiliates has been changed several times, beginning with RTM (1972–1999), Astro (2000–2006), and TV9 (2007–2008), prior to 2020 relaunch. In October 2018, the then-Education Minister Maszlee Malik announced that TV Pendidikan would be relaunched after years of long absence.
