Priit Volmer
Priit Volmer (born 6 September 1978 in Tartu) is an Estonian opera singer (Bass (voice type), bass). Priit Volmer's father was singer and actor Peeter Volmer. In 2000, he graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in singing speciality. 1998–2000, he was an opera chorus artist in Vanemuine Theatre, and 2000–2004 in Estonian National Opera. 2004–2013, he was a soloist in Estonian National Opera. Since 2016, he is working again in Estonian National Opera. Peeter Volmer
Jaan-Peeter Volmer (12 February 1940 Tartu – 7 November 2002 Pärnu) was an Estonian singer (baritone) and actor. From 1958 until 1962, he studied medicine at Tartu State University. From 1964 until 1968, he studied singing at Tartu Music School. From 1962 until 1977, he performed with the Vanemuine theatre's choir. From 1980 until 1999, he worked at Endla Theatre. Estonian Academy Of Music And Theatre
The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (''Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia'') began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the “Estonian Academy of Music”. Vanemuine () is a theatre in Tartu, Estonia. It was the first Estonian language theatre. History ''1870–1906 The Beginning of the Beginning. Koidula’s Theatre, Wiera’s Theatre.'' On June 24, 1870 was the first day in Estonian theatre history by Lydia Koidula's play "Saaremaa onupoeg" (en: Cousin from Saaremaa) was performed.It was the first Estonian language play and it was performed at the Vanemuine Society house at Jaama Street in Tartu. Estonian National Opera (''Rahvusooper Estonia'') is the national opera company of Estonia. The company is based at the Estonia Theatre in Tallinn. The theatre has had several names throughout its existence. The latest one being "The Estonian National Opera", which was adopted in 1998. Erkki-Sven Tüür
Erkki-Sven Tüür (born 16 October 1959) is an Estonian composer. Life and career Tüür () was born in Kärdla on the Estonian island of Hiiumaa. He studied flute and percussion at the Tallinn Music School from 1976 to 1980 and composition with Jaan Rääts at the Tallinn Academy of Music and privately with Lepo Sumera from 1980 to 1984. From 1979 to 1984 he headed the rock group In Spe, which quickly became one of the most popular in Estonia. Tüür left In Spe to concentrate on composition, and with the advent of perestroika soon found an audience in the west.
