Prague Grand Prix
The Prague Grand Prix is an annual running event which takes place in September in Prague, Czech Republic. It is a 10-kilometre race organised in the attractive surroundings of Prague city centre during evening twilight. The race was introduced in 1997 as the O2 Prague Grand Prix, and is a part of the RunCzech running circuit. The event holds IAAF Gold Label Road Race status. Philemon Kimeli Limo (born 2 August 1985) is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who competes in cross country running and road running competitions. He has a half marathon best of 59:30 minutes and a marathon best of 2:09:25 hours. He typically competes on the Italian road circuit and has won the Roma-Ostia and Prague Half Marathons. Hailing from Marakwet District, Kenya, he began to make his mark domestically in 2009 as he was the runner-up at the high level Rift Valley Province Cross Country Championships. Violah Jepchumba (born 23 October 1990) is a Kenyan born long-distance runner from Bahrain who competes in road running events up to the half marathon distance. She is the current Asian Record holder in the half-marathon (established 01 April 2017) with a winning time of 1:05:22. In 2016, at Praha, she ran a personal best of 1:05:51, which then ranked her as the third fastest woman ever. She began competing internationally in 2014 and was runner-up in her first European outing at the Parelloop.
