Albino, Italy
Albino (Bergamasque: ) is a ''comune'' in the province of Bergamo, in Lombardy, northern Italy. It is located northeast of Bergamo and is situated in the valley of the river Serio (''Val Seriana''). The comune is included in the perimeter of the Alpine Convention international treaty. History Archaeological findings have showed that the area was already settled in the Copper Age. In Roman times there were settlements in the area (probably of Gaulish origin), though the first document mentioning a ''in vico Albines'' dates from 892 AD. Later, entangled in the struggles between Guelphs and Ghibellines, the town was strongly fortified, a castle being built in the 14th century. Later it was under the Republic of Venice, with a strong increasing of textile and iron industry, peculiarities which still characterize Albino today. Nembro (Bergamasque: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northeast of Bergamo, on the right bank of the Serio River. Nembro borders the following municipalities: Albino, Algua, Alzano Lombardo, Pradalunga, Scanzorosciate, Selvino, Villa di Serio, Zogno. Place of religious interest Nembro has covered since the fifth century. A.D. a notable religious importance. The Pleban Archpresbyteral church dedicated to San Martino bishop of Tours is proof of this. It was built in 1424 but completely modified between 1752 and 1777 by the architect Luca Lucchini of Certenago and is considered the largest church in the diocese of Bergamo. Saint Christopher ( el, Ἅγιος Χριστόφορος, ''Ágios Christóphoros'') is veneration, venerated by several Christianity, Christian denominations as a martyr killed in the reign of the 3rd-century Roman Empire, Roman emperor Decius (reigned 249–251) or alternatively under the emperor Maximinus Daia (reigned 308–313). There appears to be confusion due to the similarity in names "Decius" and "Daia". Churches and monasteries were named after him by the 7th century. Lucia of Syracuse (283–304), also called Saint Lucia ( la, Sancta Lucia) better known as Saint Lucy, was a Roman Christian martyr who died during the Diocletianic Persecution. She is venerated as a saint in the Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Eastern Orthodox churches.
