Pouta (2010 Film)
''Walking Too Fast'' ( cs, Pouta, literally ''handcuffs'' or ''bonds'') is a Czech thriller and drama film directed by Radim Špaček. It was released in 2010. It is a psychological story about relations between the secret police (StB) and the dissident movement, set in communist Czechoslovakia in the 1980s. The film was likened to the German film ''The Lives of Others''. ''Walking Too Fast'' is described as a dark thriller with an unpredictable protagonist who becomes dangerous to all people around including himself. His way to reach the goal is self-destructive. Plot The story revolves around Antonín Rusnák who is an StB agent. He feels rage towards the world. He feels sick and bored from his family and work. Radim Špaček
Radim Špaček (born 13 October 1973, in Ostrava) is a Czech director, producent and actor best known for film Walking Too Fast. He is the only director who has received both Czech Lion and Fluffy Lion. His father Ladislav Špaček is an Etiquette expert, journalist and former Spokesperson of Václav Havel. Biography Hegraduated at Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. His debut was 1998 film Rychlé pohyby očí, Rapid Eye Movement which received Fluffy Lion an atiaward for the worst Czech film of the year. After this film he directed multiple documentary programmes. He also worked with his father on a television programme Etiquette. He made his next film Walking Too Fast in 2013. The film has received multiple Czech Lion Awards including the one for the best Czech film of the year. Velvet Revolution
The Velvet Revolution ( cs, Sametová revoluce) or Gentle Revolution ( sk, Nežná revolúcia) was a non-violent transition of power in what was then Czechoslovakia, occurring from 17 November to 28 November 1989. Popular demonstrations against the one-party government of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia included students and older dissidents. The result was the end of 41 years of one-party rule in Czechoslovakia, and the subsequent dismantling of the command economy and conversion to a parliamentary republic. On 17 November 1989 (International Students' Day), riot police suppressed a student demonstration in Prague. The event marked the 50th anniversary of a violently suppressed demonstration against the Nazi storming of Prague University in 1939 where 1,200 students were arrested and 9 killed (see Origin of International Students' Day). František Fuka (pronounced ) (October 9, 1968 in Prague) is a Czech computer programmer and musician. He currently works as a film translator, preparing English-language movies for Czech release. He is known also as a film critic, publicist and commentator. František Fuka is one of the pioneers of blogging in the Czech Republic. His website ''FFFilm'' gradually became one of the important sources among Czech film sites. The newspaper Lidové noviny ranked him among the top six influential personalities of the Czech internet in 2004.
