Abel Parentini Posse, (born January 7, 1934 in Córdoba, Argentina), is an Argentine novelist, essayist, poet, career diplomat and politician. He is the author of fourteen novels, seven collections of essays, an extensive journalistic work, together with a series of short stories and poems. His narrative fiction has received several distinguished awards. In November 2012 he became a numbered member of the Argentine Academy of Letters. Abel Parentini Posse carried out uninterrupted diplomatic duties for the Argentine Foreign Service from 1966 until 2004. Amelie Posse
Amelie Posse-Brázdová (11 February 1884, in Stockholm – 3 March 1957) was a Swedish author. She is also known for her work against nazism during World War II. Amelie Posse was the daughter of Count Fredrik Arvidsson Posse and Auda Gunhild Wennerberg. She was married to the criminal psychologist Andreas Bjerre in 1904–1912, with whom she had a son, Sören Christer Bjerre (1905-1967), who was declared insane in 1921 but eventually in adulthood became a journalist. Following her 1912 divorce from Bjerre, she married the Czech artist Oskar (nicknamed Oki) Brázda (1887–1977) from 1915, and became the mother of Bohuslav (Slavo) 9/13/1916-1991;RAF pilot) & the artist Jan Brazda (12/4/1917-2012) with Brázda. Arvid Posse
Count Arvid Rutger Fredriksson Posse (15 February 1820 – 24 April 1901) was the prime minister of Sweden from 1880 to 1883. Family background and education Posse was born at Rosendal manor in Malmöhus County, as the son of Governor Count Fredrik Posse and Baroness Magdalena Charlotta Bennet. In 1835 he enrolled at Lund University, receiving a law degree in 1840. The same year, he began as a trainee at the Court of Appeal of Skåne and Blekinge (''Hovrätten över Skåne och Blekinge''), during which time he worked both at district courts and at the Court of Appeal itself. Later, he was appointed assistant district judge (''vice häradshövding'') and in 1846 a clerk at the Court of Appeal, and in 1847 was made an associate justice at the court. Arvid Mauritz Posse (5 January 1792 – 22 July 1850) was a Swedish politician, count and Marshal of the Realm, who served as Prime Minister for Justice in 1840 and between 1846–1848. Biography Posse was born into a noble family, as the son of Count and Lord of the Realm Arvid Erik Posse and his wife, the baroness Catharina Charlotta von Otter. The family was of Jutlandic origin and belonged to the high nobility, having been raised to countship in 1706. Posse received his education at Lund University. He went on to work at Göta Court of Appeal and later became an assessor at the Svea Court of Appeal in 1816. Knut Jönsson Posse ( fi, Nuutti Posse; died 25 March 1500) was a Swedish general in Sweden and Finland remembered for the Vyborg Bang (1495) and for his surprise attack on the Danish Army at the Battle of Brunkeberg (1471). Military career Knut Posse was appointed bailiff of Stockholm Castle in 1466 and in 1472 was bailiff at Hämeenlinna Castle. In 1490 he was appointed courtier at Kastelholm Castle and in 1495 Posse was governor of Viipuri castle. He lived until 1500 and died at Kastelholm Castle. He was buried at Turku Cathedral. Fief Of Viborg
The Fief of Viborg (1320–1534) was for two centuries a late medieval fief in the southeastern border of Finland and the entire Swedish realm. It was held by its chatelain, a fief-appointed feudal lord. For extended periods, the medieval commanders of Viborg Castle (chatelains, castellans), on the border with the Republic of Novgorod, in practice functioned as margraves by collecting the crown's incomes from the fief in their own name and being entitled to keep them to defend the realm's eastern border. They enjoyed more independence than the kingdom's other castellans, "burgraves". However the fief of the castle and its county was not formally hereditary though almost all appointees were from certain families, related to the Bonde-Bååt- Haak family, which between the 1350s and the 1390s also held the Swedish titular version of the earldom of Orkney.
