Ana Popović ( sr-Cyrl, Ана Поповић, born May 13, 1976) is a blues singer and guitarist from Serbia who currently resides in the United States. Biography Early life Popović was born in 1976 in Belgrade. Her father (Milton Popović) introduced her to the blues, and she started to play the guitar when she was fifteen. Hush (1995–1998) In 1995, she formed the band Hush with Rade Popović (guitar, vocals), Milan Sarić (bass guitar) and Bojan Ivković (drums). Hush performed rhythm and blues, but also incorporated elements of funk and soul into their sound. The band had their first performance in the club Vox in Belgrade. During 1996, Hush performed across Serbia, also performing in Greece. Bogdan Popović (Serbian Cyrillic: Богдан Поповић; 20 December 1863 – 7 November 1944) was one of the most important literary critics and university professors in Serbia and later Yugoslavia and an academic. Barbara Popović ( mk, Барбара Поповиќ, ; born 16 September 2000), also known as simply Barbara, is a Macedonian singer. She is known for representing her country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Biography Popović was born in Skopje, North Macedonia, on 16 August 2000. Bojan Popović ( sr, Бојан Поповић; born February 13, 1983) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He also represented the Serbian national basketball team internationally. He is a 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in) tall point guard. Professional career Popović is a product of the FMP's youth system. After spending four years as a professional at the club from Belgrade's suburb of Železnik, winning one Serbian Cup and Adriatic League trophy, he signed a contract with Russian PBL team Dynamo Moscow. His good performances led the team to the Euroleague quarterfinals, where they lost to Panathinaikos, which eventually won the cup. Cvjetko Popović (Serbian Cyrillic: Цвјетко Поповић; 1896 – 9 June 1980) was a Bosnian Serb who was involved in the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Early life and assassination He was born in what is modern-day Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was an 18-year-old student, studying in Sarajevo when Danilo Ilić recruited him and his friend, Vaso Čubrilović, to help assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Bojana Popović née Petrović, (born 20 November 1979) is a handball coach and a retired Montenegrin handballer. She is considered by many to be the best female handball player of the past decade, despite not being given any official recognition. After winning the Women's EHF Champions League with Budućnost and a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games with the Montenegro national team, Bojana Popović decided to retire from handball. Milan Popović (; born 29 October 1955), better known as Danijel Popović () or simply Daniel (), is a Montenegrin-Croatian pop singer. Biography Born to a Montenegrin father and a Belgian mother, Popović was raised in Titograd, but made his name in Zagreb, where he moved in 1977 to pursue a career in pop music. The Serbs ( sr-Cyr, Срби, Srbi, ) are the most numerous South Slavic ethnic group native to the Balkans in Southeastern Europe, who share a common Serbian ancestry, culture, history and language. Davorin Popović (23 September 1946 – 18 June 2001) was a Bosnian singer and songwriter, born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was well known throughout the former Yugoslavia. He was the lead singer and frontman of the progressive rock, progressive and pop rock band Indexi throughout most of their career.
