Popeda
Popeda is a Finnish rock band hailing from Tampere and one of the staples of Manserock. Epe Helenius, who signed the band for Poko Rekords in 1977, called the band "Finnish Rolling Stones". Musically their style is a combination of rock 'n' roll, with humorous lyrics by their vocalist Pate Mustajärvi, often concerning girls, cars and drinking. Popeda was founded in November 1977 by Pauli "Pate" Mustajärvi and Ilari "Ilpo" Ainiala. Popeda's 1983 album ''Kaasua'' is considered their breakthrough. Pate Mustajärvi is currently the band's only original member. Finnish singer Erin released a single whose namesake is this particular band. Costello Hautamäki
Vesa-Pekka "Costello" Hautamäki (born 11 September 1963 in Tampere) is a Finnish musician and composer. He is known especially for his career as a guitarist with Finnish rock group Popeda, but he has also forged an international career with Hanoi Rocks as their guitarist during 2001–2003 and has actively performed and recorded as a solo artist. Hautamäki's first group was Sensuuri, who were active between 1978–1981. Hautamäki joined Popeda in 1981 after graduating from high school. Pate Mustajärvi
Pauli Antero "Pate" Mustajärvi (born July 12, 1956) is a Finnish rock singer. He is known as the vocalist, frontman and only original member of Popeda as well as a solo artist. In his birthplace of Tampere he is known as "Ikurin turbiini" ("the turbine of Ikuri)." Mustajärvi appears on the 1984 film '' Calamari Union'' by Aki Kaurismäki, playing one of the fifteen main characters named Frank. In 2004 Mustajärvi performed two songs on the soundtrack of the Finnish action/ thriller film '' Vares - yksityisetsivä''. Let's Live For Today (song)
"Let's Live for Today" is a song written by David "Shel" Shapiro and Italian lyricist Mogol, with additional English lyrics provided by Michael Julien. It was first recorded, with Italian lyrics, under the title of "Piangi con me" (translation: "Cry with Me") by the English band the Rokes in 1966. Later, when "Piangi con me" was to be released in the United Kingdom, publisher Dick James Music requested that staff writer Julien compose English lyrics for the song. Julien composed new lyrics, rather than translating from the Italian, and it was his input that transformed "Piangi con me" into "Let's Live for Today". The song was popularized by the American rock band the Grass Roots, who released it as a single on May 13, 1967. Lacu (born 1969 in Tampere as Kari Lahtinen), is a Finnish drummer best known for playing in the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks from their reformation in 2002 until his departure in 2008. He has also played with Popeda and Snakegod. Erin Helena Maureen Anttila (née Koivisto; born 2 July 1977), better known as simply Erin, is a Finnish singer who rose to fame with the pop group Nylon Beat. Poko Rekords
Poko Rekords was a Finland, Finnish record label. It was established in 1977, but ceased operations in 2009. In the early years, Poko Rekords focused mainly on Punk rock, punk and rockabilly music and later expanded its artist range to Heavy metal music, heavier rock music. Poko Rekords released records by many successful Finnish artists and bands. Among others, Eppu Normaali, Popeda, Hassisen Kone, Sielun Veljet, J.
