Ponte De Amizade
The Amizade Bridge is a four-lane, two-way bridge in Macau that connects Macau Peninsula near the Reservatório and Taipa Island at Pac On. Built after the Macau–Taipa Bridge, it is the second one that connects the peninsula and Taipa across the Zhujiang River Estuary. Thus it is also referred to as the New Macau–Taipa Bridge. Construction started in June 1990. Opened to traffic in March 1994, it is the longest of the three bridges crossing Baía da Praia Grande between Macau Peninsula and Taipa, with a length of , including of connecting viaduct, and a width of . There are two crests on the bridge to allow for the passage of sea traffic. The highest point of the bridge is above sea level. Praia Grande Bay ( pt, link=no, Baía da Praia Grande, lit=large beach or ) or Nam Van (), officially known as Ou Mun (), is a bay in Macau, China. Macau Peninsula
The Macau Peninsula is the most populous and historical part of Macau. It has an area of () and is geographically connected to Guangdong Province at the northeast through an isthmus wide. The peninsula, together with downtown Zhuhai, sits on an island separated from the continent by distributaries of the Pearl River. The Border Gate (; pt, Portas do Cerco) was built on the northern isthmus. Taipa ( zh, t=氹仔, ; pt, Taipa, ) was a former island in Macau, presently united with the island of Coloane by reclaimed land known as Cotai. Administratively, the boundaries of the traditional civil parish Freguesia de Nossa Senhora do Carmo are coterminous with that of former Taipa Island. Cable-stayed Bridge
A cable-stayed bridge has one or more ''towers'' (or ''pylons''), from which cables support the bridge deck. A distinctive feature are the cables or stays, which run directly from the tower to the deck, normally forming a fan-like pattern or a series of parallel lines. This is in contrast to the modern suspension bridge, where the cables supporting the deck are suspended vertically from the main cable, anchored at both ends of the bridge and running between the towers. Macau–Taipa Bridge
The Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, also known as the Macau–Taipa Bridge, is a dual-lane two-way bridge connecting Macau Peninsula near Casino Lisboa and the island of Taipa at the northern slope of Taipa Pequena (Small Taipa Hill) crossing the former Baía da Praia Grande.
