The Polish Olympic Committee ( pl, Polski Komitet Olimpijski, PKOl) is the National Olympic Committee representing Poland. History The Polish Olympic Committee was established on 12 October 1919 and in 1919 was recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Piotr Nurowski
Piotr Jan Nurowski (20 June 1945 – 10 April 2010) was a Polish tennis player and the chief of the Polish Olympic Committee. Nurowski was born in Sandomierz. He died in Smolensk, Russia in the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash. On 16 April 2010 he was posthumously awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He was buried in the Alley of the Meritorious in the Military Cemetery in Warsaw. Pruszków
Pruszków ( yi, פּרושקאָוו) is a city in east-central Poland, situated in the Masovian Voivodeship since 1999. It was previously in Warszawa Voivodeship (1975–1998). Pruszków is the capital of Pruszków County, located along the western edge of the Warsaw urban area. In the 1990s and 2000s the city was synonymous with the "Pruszków gang", one of two major organised crime groups in the country. Currently it is best known for being the country's cycling centre with a purpose built indoor velodrome.
