Plavie ( ua, Плав'є, pl, Pławie) is a village (''selo'') in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast, in western Ukraine. The village is located in the Ukrainian Carpathians, within the limits of the Eastern Beskids (Skole Beskids) in southern Lviv Oblast. It belongs to Kozova rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Local government–Plavianska village council. The first written mention of the settlement dates back to 1523. Until 18 July 2020, Plavie belonged to Skole Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. Stepan Kalynevych
Stepan Kalynevych (1883-1954, uk, Калине́вич Степа́н Льво́вич ) – educator, organizer and director of the societies Prosvita in Humnyska. He was a musician, director of the choir, the head of Drama Theatre, was a member of the "Society of mutual assistance Ukrainian of teaching", the founder and many years director of the school in the village Humnyska, Busk district (1931-1944) and in the village Plavie, Skole district (1945-1954). The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. Jaroslava Korol
Jaroslava Korol (1954–2009, uk, Яросла́ва Коро́ль), née Kosar ( uk, Коса́р) was a Ukrainian painter. Genre – painter, sacred art. Biography Jaroslava Korol was born on June 25, 1954 in Plavie, Skole Raion), Lviv Oblast. She was born in the family of the priest Anton and Maria. After graduation from high school in 1971 with a gold medal, she enrolled at the Department of Art Pottery at Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1972-1977). From 1977 she lived in Lviv and worked as a graphic designer. Since the late of the eighties of the 20th century she started an interesting period of searching creative identities. This is area of religious and historical painting, symbolic and of allegorical compositions. She died after a long illness July 10, 2009 and was buried at the Cemetery of village Malekhiv. Mountain Ridge Dovzhky
Dovzhky mountain range ( uk, До́вжки) is located on the territory of Stryi-San Highland, which is located in Stryi Raion of Lviv Oblast. Skole Beskids
The Skole Beskids ( uk, Сколівські Бескиди; pl, Beskidy Skolskie) is a mountain range in western Ukraine, belonging to the set of ranges called the Eastern Beskids, within the Outer Eastern Carpathians. The mountains are composed primary of Carpathian flysch. The northern section of the range is the location of the Skole Beskids National Nature Park, established in 1999; within the park is the highest peak in the range, Mount Parashka, at 1268 meters. Zwinin Mountain, at 992 meters above sea level, is also located within the park. The Skole Beskids is also the site of the sandstone fortresses of Tustan', built between the 9th century and 13th century, now a State Historical and Cultural Reserve. It's near the town of Boryslav. A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality. Skole ( uk, Ско́ле) is a town in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast (region) of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Skole urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: . History The first official date recorded for Skole was in 1397. A very important route from Kyiv to Hungary ran through Skole; as a result, it was frequently fought over by other nations. When the Skole region was under Polish rule, the Polish king parceled out the land among the Polish nobility.
