Platano Macho
Plátano Macho was a hip-hop, rap and funk band in Uruguay. The band formed in the mid 1990s and was produced by Gabriel Casacuberta (Clecter) and Andres Perez Miranda (Androoval). The band consisted of SPD Gonzalez, Choniuk, LSPiano aka. 'Supervielle', A/PM aka Androoval and Clecter. Their 1998 album 'The Perro Convention' with the Argentinean label PolyGram included the single, "Pendeja", which was included in the regular programming of radio Rock & Pop, MTV latino channel and also on MTV Lingo compilation, where they included bands like Cyprus Hill, Molotov and Control Machete. Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. Molotov is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 1995. Their lyrics, which are rapped and sung by all members of the group, feature a mixture of Spanish and English. The band members also switch instruments and roles depending on what song they are performing. Biography The band began in 1995 when two friends, Tito Fuentes (guitar) and Micky "Chicho" Huidobro (bass), started playing together. Javier de la "J" Cueva and Iván Jared "La Quesadillera" Moreno joined them in September of that year, becoming the first line up for the band. Control Machete is a Mexican hip hop group from Monterrey, Nuevo León. Its members are Fermín IV (listed as Fermin IV Caballero Elizondo in credits), Patricio "Pato Machete" Chapa Elizalde, and Toy Kenobi (Antonio "Toy" Hernández). Bajofondo is a Río de la Plata-based music band consisting of eight musicians from Argentina and Uruguay, which aims to create a more contemporary version of tango and other musical styles of the Río de la Plata region. It was founded in the early 2000s as a studio experiment, which culminated into the successful album ''Bajofondo Tango Club''. This led to touring and eventually to the current lineup.
