Control Machete
Control Machete is a Mexican hip hop group from Monterrey, Nuevo León. Its members are Fermín IV (listed as Fermin IV Caballero Elizondo in credits), Patricio "Pato Machete" Chapa Elizalde, and Toy Kenobi (Antonio "Toy" Hernández). History The group moved to the mainstream after their song "Sí Señor" was used as backing in the Levi's Super Bowl television commercial "Crazy Legs". However, their debut album was already a bestseller, with 100,000 units sold in Mexico and 400,000 in all of Latin America. In 1998, Control Machete covered the song " Amnesia" included in the album '' Volcán: Tributo a José José'', a tribute to Mexican legend José José. Fermin IV left Control Machete in 2002 and released a solo album, ''Boomerang''. Monterrey ( , ) is the capital and largest city of the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico, and the third largest city in Mexico behind Guadalajara and Mexico City. Rubén González (pianist)
Rubén González Fontanills (26 May 1919 – 8 December 2003) was a Cuban pianist. Together with Lilí Martínez and Peruchín he is said to have "forged the style of modern Cuban piano playing in the 1940s". Between the 1940s and his retirement in the 1980s, he played with Cuba's most successful acts, including Paulina Álvarez, Arsenio Rodríguez, Orquesta América del 55, Orquesta Riverside and Enrique Jorrín. In the 1990s, he came out of retirement to play in the revival ensembles Afro-Cuban All Stars and Buena Vista Social Club, also recording solo material and performing live until 2002. Avanzada Regia
Avanzada Regia was a musical movement in the mid-1990s from Monterrey in Mexico. Origins In 1995, the group Zurdok Movimiento won the Battle of the Bands at the Rockotitlan music festival, becoming the first band not from Mexico City to win it, thus creating such expectations towards the city that the record labels began to move there to search for groups. La Ultima de Lucas, made up of young people all under twenty years old, but which had talented musicians in its lineup, was the first band from Monterrey to sign a record contract. The Latin American phenomenon of Control Machete was followed by, by way of a domino effect, more bands. Zurdok Movimiento (who started it all) were finally signed by Discos Manicomio, an imprint of PolyGram, as well as the rapcore group called La Flor de Lingo. ''Crackdown'' is a 2007 action-adventure game developed by Realtime Worlds and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360.
