Pio Del Gaudio (born 24 April 1967, in Caserta, Italy) is an Italian politician and chartered accountant. He is a member of the Forza Italia party. He was elected to the city council in 2006 and ran for mayor of Caserta in the 2011 municipal elections. He served as Mayor of Caserta from 2011 to 2015. Caserta () is the capital of the province of Caserta in the Campania region of Italy. It is an important agricultural, commercial, and industrial ''comune'' and city. Caserta is located on the edge of the Campanian plain at the foot of the Campanian Subapennine mountain range. The city is best known for the Royal Palace of Caserta. History Anciently inhabited by Osco- Samnite tribes, modern Caserta was established around the defensive tower built in Lombard times by Pando, Prince of Capua.
