Pinglin District (a.k.a. Ping-Lin, ) is a rural district of southeastern New Taipei, Taiwan. It is the third-largest district of New Taipei City and it is located in the mountainous area bordering Yilan County. Overview Pinglin is part of the water district of the greater Taipei area as the Feicui Dam is located in the neighboring Shiding District, so land development is restricted. Pinglin is most known for producing pouchong tea. The Pinglin Tea Museum is the world's largest tea museum. Over 80% of its residents are tea growers or are involved in the tea business. The Ping-Lin Tea Museum (), also spelled Pinglin Tea Museum, is a museum located in the hills of Pinglin District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It is one of the world's largest tea museums. Beishi River Historical Trail () is a trail in Pinglin District and Shuangxi District in New Taipei, Taiwan. Geology The trail follows the paths along Beishi River for a distance of 2.6 km. It has two entrances, one located near Heilongtan Campground in Pinglin District and the other located at Liaojiaokeng Community in Shuangxi District. Provincial Highway 9 (Taiwan)
Provincial Highway 9 is an important highway across eastern Taiwan from Taipei City to Fangshan, Pingtung, Pingtung County. This provincial highway, at 476.1 km long, is the longest provincial highway in Taiwan and passes the regions of Taipei City, New Taipei City, Yilan County, Hualien County, Taitung County and Pingtung County. Route Description The highway begins in front of Executive Yuan in downtown Taipei. It continues along Zhongshan South Road (中山南路) and Roosevelt Road (羅斯福路) until it reaches Xindian, New Taipei. From there the highway follows Beixin Road (北新路) and later becomes Bei-Yi Highway (北宜公路). Pouchong
Baozhong tea, sometimes Romanization of Chinese, romanized as pouchong, is a lightly oxidized tea, twist shape, with floral notes, and usually not roasted, somewhere between green tea and what is usually considered oolong tea, though often classified with the latter due to its lack of the sharper green tea flavours. It is produced mainly in Fujian, China and in Pinglin District, New Taipei, Taiwan. Its name in Chinese, literally "the wrapped kind", refers to a practice of wrapping the leaves in paper during the drying process that has largely been discontinued due to advancement in tea processing. Feicui Dam
Feicui Dam () is a double curvature concrete arch dam on the Beishi River in Shiding District, New Taipei, Taiwan, forming Feicui Reservoir (). The dam is located in Shiding District, New Taipei City, and is usually misunderstood as the principal water source for the Taipei metropolitan area, Greater Taipei area (In fact, the principal water source for the Greater Taipei area is Nanshi River. Feicui Dam, by contrast, is the water source in reserve). The name of the dam and reservoir translates as "emerald lake", in reference to the pure quality of the water.
