Pinghe County () is a county of the prefecture-level city of Zhangzhou, in southern Fujian province, PRC, bordering Guangdong province to the west. Luxi, Pinghe County
Luxi Town () is a township-level division of Pinghe County, in the south of Fujian Province, China. Luxi Town is located in the mountainous northwestern corner of Pinghe County. In the north and west, its territory borders on Nanjing County and Yongding County. The town's name comes from the eponymous creek (Luxi (), literally, "Reed Creek"; cf. Lugou Bridge in Beijing), which flows here into the Mei River (Meihe; not to be confused with Meijiang, of the same system). The Meihe flows to the southwest, eventually leaving Fujian and entering Guangdong, where it becomes known as the Meitan River and becomes one of the 3 rivers whose confluence forms the Han River. Xiazhai Town () is a township-level division of Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, China. Tulou Numerous Fujian Tulou, earth buildings of round, rectangular and other shapes, can be found within the administrative borders of Xiazhai Town. One of them, Xishuang Lou (), located in Xi'an Village a few kilometers north of Xiazhai town center, has been described by some researchers as the "largest of the rectangular ulouin existence". The pomelo ( ), ''Citrus maxima'', is the largest citrus fruit from the family Rutaceae and the principal ancestor of the grapefruit. People's Communes
The people's commune () was the highest of three administrative levels in rural areas of the People's Republic of China during the period from 1958 to 1983, until they were replaced by townships. Communes, the largest collective units, were divided in turn into production brigades and production teams. The communes had governmental, political, and economic functions during the Cultural Revolution. The people's commune was commonly known for collectivizing living and working practices, especially during the Great Leap Forward. The scale of the commune and its ability to extract income from the rural population enabled commune administrations to invest in large-scale mechanization, infrastructure, and industrial projects.
