Side Platforms
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. Line 2 (Budapest Metro)
Line 2 (officially: East-West Line, Metro 2 or M2, and unofficially: Red Line) is the second line of the Budapest Metro. The line runs east from Déli pályaudvar in north-central Buda under the Danube to the city center, from where it continues east following the route of Rákóczi út to its terminus at Örs vezér tere. Deák Ferenc Tér Metro Station
Deák Ferenc tér is a transfer station on the M1, M2, and M3 lines of the Budapest Metro. It is located under the eponymous city square in central Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Owing to its direct transfer connection between three out of the four metro lines Budapest has and its downtown location, it is one of the busiest stations in the system. History The original station, on the M1 line, was constructed with two side platforms, at a depth of 2.7 metres by cut-and-cover. It was originally named ''Gizella tér''. Örs Vezér Tere Metro Station
Örs vezér tere is the eastern terminus of the M2 (East-West) line of the Budapest Metro. It is also the starting place of the Gödöllő HÉV (Hungarian suburban rail). The station was open on 2 April 1970 as part of the inaugural section of Line M2, between Deák Ferenc tér and Örs vezér tere. There are two shopping centers (Árkád, Sugár), an IKEA, and a tram-stop (Tram 3, 62, 62A).
