Pietà Hotspurs Football Club is a Malta, Maltese Association football, football club based in Pietà, Malta, Pietà, founded in 1968, the club currently plays in the Maltese Premier League. History Pietà Hotspurs had their league debut on 23 October 1934, but any success the club had hoped to achieve was postponed due to the outbreak of World War II. After the war's end, Pietà took part in the Anglo Maltese Football League, before joining the Third Division of the National Championships, where they spent ten seasons. Pietà Hotspurs, however, were replaced in the league with ''Pietà Atlanta'' in 1962, a team which later changed their name to Pietà Hotspurs in 1973, joining the Fourth Division in 1974. The team won the league and promotion, but spent ten years in the Third Division. They eventually won promotion in 1985, but were soon relegated again. Saviour Darmanin
Saviour Darmanin (born 7 February 1977 in Pietà, Malta) is a Maltese former professional footballer, who was most recently working with Maltese First Division side Vittoriosa Stars, where he was the club's assistant manager. During his career, he played as a goalkeeper. Saviour is remembered for being part of the Valletta squad that beat Juventus in 2008, where he saved a shot to win Valletta the game in the penalty shoot-out. The Pietà (; meaning "pity", "compassion") is a subject in Christian art depicting the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus after his body was removed from the cross. It is most often found in sculpture. The Pietà is a specific form of the Lamentation of Christ in which Jesus is mourned by the Virgin Mary alone. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football.
