Ganiu Atanda Ogungbe (born 1 December 1992) is a Nigerian professional footballer who played last as a centre back or defensive midfielder for Sheikh Russel KC of Bangladesh Premier League. Club career Trials in Netherlands After U-20 World Cup Ogungbe was invited for a trial in Vitesse, Netherlands. He played a friendly game against AGOVV Apeldoorn and Vitesse was impressed with the player. Also at the time in Vitesse, Chelsea club who has great partnership with Vitesse was interested in the player and could have signed him but for financial reasons the deal did not go through. Omonia Ogungbe signed a three-year contract with Cyprus First Division team AC Omonia in summer 2013 after successful trial with the Cypriot team. 2011 African U-20 Championship
The 2011 African Youth Championship was a football tournament for the Under-20 level national teams in Africa. It was due to be held in Libya from 18 March to 1 April. Following political unrest in the region, CAF decided to postpone the tournament, before deciding that South Africa would be the new hosts, with games taking place between 17 April and 2 May. As the Championship also acted as a qualifier for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the tournament would have to be played before the end of June 2011. The tournament was won by Nigeria, who beat Cameroon in the final, to win their sixth title. 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 18th FIFA U-20 World Cup. Colombia hosted the tournament between 29 July and 20 August 2011, with matches being played in eight cities. The tournament was won by Brazil who claimed their fifth title. At a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Sydney on 26 May 2008, Colombia beat the only other candidate country, Venezuela, for the right to organize the U-20 World Cup. It was suggested by the then-Vice President of Colombia Francisco Santos Calderón that it was needed to withdraw from the race with Brazil to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup so the nation could concentrate on hosting the "best possible games". In an inspection tour of development works in March 2010, Jack Warner, then the vice president of FIFA, said that the completion of this tournament could provide Colombia with a launch pad to become a possible host for the 2026 World Cup. Kostas Kaiafas
Kostas Kaiafas ( gr, Κώστας Καϊάφας; born 22 September 1974 in Nicosia) is Cypriot former football player and manager. As a player, he was a midfielder for Omonia and Alki Larnaca. He was the captain of Omonia and the second longest servant in the history of the club, only five appearances short of becoming Omonoia's all-time record holder. Playing career Kaiafas came through the AC Omonia academies, playing at first as a right midfielder but then moving to the centre as a defensive midfielder. 2008–2009 was his last season with Omonia, as manager Takis Lemonis let him know that he is no longer included in his squad, and decided to announce his retirement from the team in June 2009.
