Saviour Darmanin
Saviour Darmanin (born 7 February 1977 in Pietà, Malta) is a Maltese former professional footballer, who was most recently working with Maltese First Division side Vittoriosa Stars, where he was the club's assistant manager. During his career, he played as a goalkeeper. Saviour is remembered for being part of the Valletta squad that beat Juventus in 2008, where he saved a shot to win Valletta the game in the penalty shoot-out. He now runs his own goalkeeping school in Malta. Birgu ( mt, Il-Birgu , it, Vittoriosa), also known by its title Città Vittoriosa ("''Victorious City''"), is an old fortified city on the south side of the Grand Harbour in the South Eastern Region of Malta. The city occupies a promontory of land with Fort Saint Angelo at its head and the city of Cospicua at its base. Birgu is ideally situated for safe anchorage, and over time it has developed a very long history with maritime, mercantile and military activities. The FA Trophy, currently known as the IZIBET FA Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is an annual football cup competition that takes place in Malta. The cup was founded in 1933; following a match between England and Italy, played in Rome in May 1933, to where a number of pro-British Maltese supporters travelled to support the English side. The Football Association as recognition donated a silver trophy to be played on the model of the FA Cup. The team who wins the cup, wins a place in the First qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
