Pieretta Dawn
Praekarn (Pier) Nirandara (born January 28, 1994), better known by the pen name Pieretta Dawn, is the youngest English-writing author in Thailand. She received national critical acclaim when her debut young adult novel ''The Mermaid Apprentices'', the first of ''The Interspecies Trilogy'', was published at age 15 in 2009 by NanmeeBooks. Various writers have praised her work for its creativity and social message, including S.E.A. Write Award winners Jiranan Pitpreecha and Binlah Sonkalagiri. Biography Dawn was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She attended Bangkok Patana School, during which she published her first novel, ''The Mermaid Apprentices''. The ''Bangkok Post'' is an English-language daily newspaper published in Bangkok, Thailand. It is published in broadsheet and digital formats. The first issue was sold on 1 August 1946. It had four pages and cost one baht, a considerable amount at the time when a baht was a paper note. It is Thailand's second oldest newspaper and the oldest still in publication. The daily circulation of the ''Bangkok Post'' is 110,000, 80 percent of which is distributed in Bangkok and the remainder nationwide. Ngarmpun Vejjajiva ( th, งามพรรณ เวชชาชีวะ, , born January 27, 1963, in London) is a Thai novelist and translator. She was the recipient of the S.E.A. Write Award for Thailand in 2006 for her first novel, ''The Happiness of Kati''. A wheelchair user, she has had cerebral palsy since birth and finds comfort in immersing herself in the imaginary world of reading and writing. As is customary for Thais, she has a short nickname, thus many people know her as "Jane". Ngarmpun is the sister of Thailand's former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
