Phra Phrom ( th, พระพรหม, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise): Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Ron Phibun, and Lan Saka. History The district was created as a minor district (''king amphoe'') on 30 April 1994 by splitting off four ''tambons'' from Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat district. On 11 October 1997 the minor district was upgraded to a full district. Chaloem Phra Kiat ( th, เฉลิมพระเกียรติ, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History The district was created on 5 December 1996, together with four other districts named ''Chaloem Phra Kiat'' in celebration of the 50th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's accession to the throne. Thesaban
Thesaban ( th, เทศบาล, , ) are the municipalities of Thailand. There are three levels of municipalities: city, town, and sub-district. Bangkok and Pattaya are special municipal entities not included in the ''thesaban'' system. Muban
Muban ( th, หมู่บ้าน; , ) is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as 'hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). , there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. As of the 1990 census, the average village consisted of 144 households or 746 persons. Nomenclature ''Muban'' may function as one word, in the sense of a hamlet or village, and as such may be shortened to ''ban''. Tambon
''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. King Amphoe
An amphoe (sometimes also ''amphur'', th, อำเภอ, )—usually translated as "district"—is the second level administrative subdivision of Thailand. Groups of ''amphoe'' or districts make up the provinces, and are analogous to counties. The chief district officer is ''Nai Amphoe'' (). ''Amphoe'' are divided into ''tambons'', ( th, ตำบล), or sub-districts. Altogether Thailand has 928 districts, including the 50 districts of Bangkok, which are called '' khet'' (เขต) since the Bangkok administrative reform of 1972. The number of districts in provinces varies, from only three in the smallest provinces, up to the 50 urban districts of Bangkok. Also the sizes and population of districts differ greatly. Lan Saka ( th, ลานสกา, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History The district was at first a minor district (''king amphoe'') named Khao Kaeo (เขาแก้ว), which was a subordinate of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat district. Ron Phibun District
Ron Phibun ( th, อำเภอร่อนพิบูลย์, ) Ron Phibun or Ronphibool is a district (''amphoe'') in the southern part of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. The district is home to the Phud Hong Leper Colony. As of 2020, it provides a home for 133 leprosy patients. Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat District
Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat ( th, อำเภอเมืองนครศรีธรรมราช, ) is the capital district (''amphoe mueang'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the southeast clockwise): Pak Phanang, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Phra Phrom, Lan Saka, Phrom Khiri and Tha Sala. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand. Southern Thailand
Southern Thailand, Southern Siam or Tambralinga is a southernmost cultural region of Thailand, separated from Central Thailand region by the Kra Isthmus. Geography Southern Thailand is on the Malay Peninsula, with an area of around , bounded to the north by Kra Isthmus, the narrowest part of the peninsula. The western part has highly steep coasts, while on the east side river plains dominate.
