Philippe Francq
Philippe Francq (; born 13 December 1961) is a Belgian comic book artist, best known for the series ''Largo Winch''. Biography Philippe Francq was born in Etterbeek in 1961.De Weyer, Geert (2005). His early favourites were ''Blake and Mortimer'', ''Spike and Suzy'', ''Alix'' and ''The Adventures of Tintin''. He finished studying comic drawing at the Saint Luc Academy in Brussels when he was 23. After some minor success with ''Des villes et des femmes'' and ''Léo Tomasini'' (both at Dargaud), he met author Jean Van Hamme, then already one of the most successful European comic authors with ''Thorgal'' and ''XIII'', in 1988. Etterbeek ( French: ; Dutch: ) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Jean, knight Van Hamme (born 16 January 1939) is a Belgian novelist and comic book writer. He has written scripts for a number of Belgian/French comic series, including ''Histoire sans héros'', ''Thorgal'', ''XIII'' and ''Largo Winch''. Biography Early years After studying business administration at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, he worked as a journalist and in the marketing department of Philips. In the meantime, he started writing, and one of his first scripts was adapted by Paul Cuvelier in 1968. This erotic comic named Epoxy was published by the controversial publisher Éric Losfeld, who prior to that also had published similarly themed comics like Jean-Claude Forest's Barbarella and Robert Gigi's Scarlett Dream. Myx (, stylized as MYX or myx) is a Philippine pay TV channel based in Quezon City, owned by Creative Programs Inc., a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation. Éditions Dupuis S.A. () is a Belgium, Belgian publisher of comic albums and magazines. Based in Marcinelle near Charleroi, Dupuis was founded in 1922 by Jean Dupuis, and is mostly famous for its comic comics album, albums and magazines. It is originally a French language publisher, but publishes many editions both in French and Dutch language, Dutch. Other language editions are mostly licensed to other publishers. Bob de Groot is a Belgian comics artist and writer, born on 26 October 1941 in Brussels, to Dutch and French parents. Career While still a young art student de Groot got his first comics experience as an assistant to Maurice Tillieux on ''Félix''. He began creating shorter work for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine ''Pilote'', with creators such as Hubuc, Reiser. With Fred as scenarist he drew the strip ''4 × 8 = 32 L'Agent Caméléon'' in the late 60s. When the artist Turk joined to assist on the series, de Groot gradually took on increasing amounts of work as scenarist and went on to collaborate with Turk on several series, including ''Archimède'', ''Robin Dubois'' and eventually Raymond Macherot's Clifton.
