Phat Kongrum
Phat Kongrum ( th, พัด คงรัมย์, born 7 September 1959) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter and amateur boxer. He was a Rajadamnern Stadium champion and competed in the men's lightweight division at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Biography and career Before amateur boxing, Kongrum had been competing in Muay Thai under the name "Samingnoom Sithiboontham" (สมิงหนุ่ม สิทธิบุญธรรม) and was considered one of the top Muay Thai fighters. He has fought with many famous Muay Thai boxers in the 1980s, such as Samart Payakaroon, Kongtoranee Payakaroon or Nokweed Devy. He fought Samart Payakaroon twice, in the year 1981 and in 1983 and lost both times. Lumpinee Stadium
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ( th, สนามเวทีมวยลุมพินี) is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The stadium is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Opened more than a decade later than Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee is run by the Royal Thai Army. It has become the symbol of modern Muay Thai. Only Rajadamnern Stadium rivals the prestige of holding the title of "Muay Thai Champion of Lumpinee". The ranking system and championship titles are held from mini flyweight (105 lb) up to super welterweight (154 lb). Muay Thai bouts are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The fights usually start around 18:00. The final event at its original site on Rama IV Road near Lumphini Park was held on 8 February 2014. Maitri Netmanee also known as Orachunnoi Hor Mahachai ( th, อรชุนน้อย ฮ.มหาชัย); is a retired Thai Muay Thai fighter and amateur boxer. Biography and career Orachunnoi was born in 1950 in the city of Tkhakek, Laos from thai parents working at the border. He grew up in the Ubon Ratchathani province where he started Muay Thai training at the age of 10 with his uncle. He later joined the Hor Machachai camp in Bangkok. On the main circuit in Bangkok he rapidly established himself as the best fighter around the flyweight limit, winning a Lumpinee stadium title. Mafuang Weerapol ( th, มะเฟือง วีรพล; is a retired Thai Muay Thai fighter. Muay Thai career Mafuang started fighting in the Surin and Buriram provinces as child, he made his Lumpinee Stadium debut in 1973, winning by knockout. He had bad results in his following bouts and ended up going back to the provinces to compete. He made his return to Bangkok this time fighting out of the Lukmatulee camp. Between 1978 and 1982 Mafung was one of the most dominant bantamweight on the Bangkok stadium circuit. He was feared for his punching power which led him to hold the belts from both the Rajadamnern and Lumpinee Satadiums. His dominance saw him defend his belts multiple times and take on handicap fights. Mafuang faced Muay Thai legend Samart Payakaroon on June 9, 1981 at the Lumpinee Stadium.
