Nubanusit Brook
Nubanusit Brook is a stream in southern New Hampshire in the United States. The brook begins at the outlet of Nubanusit Lake in Nelson. It is a tributary of the Contoocook River, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The brook flows south into Harrisville, interrupted by Harrisville Pond and Skatutakee Lake, then east to the MacDowell Reservoir (constructed for flood control) in Peterborough. The brook turns south, passes the village of West Peterborough, and reaches the Contoocook River after passing through Peterborough village. Nubanusit Brook was important to the establishment and development of Harrisville and Peterborough because many dams were built along it to provide water power to mills. Milford is a census-designated place (CDP) and the main village in the town of Milford, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population of the CDP was 9,212 at the 2020 census, out of 16,131 in the entire town. Geography The CDP occupies the center to northeastern part of the town of Milford, along both sides of the Souhegan River. It is bordered to the northeast by the town of Amherst, to the southeast by Ponemah Hill Road, and to the south by Emerson Road, Armory Road, and Osgood Pond. New Hampshire Route 101 (NH 101) is a state-maintained highway in southern New Hampshire extending from Keene to Hampton Beach. It is the major east–west highway in the southern portion of the state. The western terminus of NH 101 is in Keene at the junction with New Hampshire Routes 9, 10 and 12. The eastern terminus is in Hampton Beach at the junction with Ocean Boulevard ( NH 1A).
